- MTB
- Threads Per Inch: 66
- Tyre Bead: Folding
- Use: Cross Country
- Weight (g): 700
Constructed from the ground up to offer the grip levels of a full knobbly, the rolling resistance and acceleration of a semi-slick or the comfort and shock absorption of a large volume tyre, low weight for all mountain performance.
With Panaracers ASB system, it means that the tyre has a proprietary anti-rebound rubber strip that reduces the chance of pinch flats by an average of 40%!
The new ZSG Natural formula integrates more natural rubber into the compound. This compound has the same low rolling resistance as the premium compound and it has enhanced wear resistance making it perfect for a long wearing training tyre.
Panaracer's exclusive Multi-Step knobs have various heights designed into each knob These stepped knobs help tyres to perform in all conditions from hard to soft. Short big knobs are specially designed to provide an excellent ride that also delivers the lightest weight full knobby MTB tyres.

About MTB Off-Road Tyres
These tyres are for mountain bikes and intended primarily for off road use, the knobbly patterns provide grip when steering and traction when applying power to the pedals. There is usually a tyre to suit the conditions in which you are riding in so the right choice is important. On dry days a narrow tyre with a smoother central tread can be used, but on a wet day a wider tyre with a deeper knobbly tread pattern is essential or you could be the one in contact with the mud.
About the Panaracer brand

Magazine reviews for Panaracer Rampage Folding Mountain Bike Tyre
Review from What MTB
Broad, well supported blocks eliminate tread shuffle and squirm with traction underwritten by variable compound ZSG rubber. The reinforced rubber sidewall beads also let you get away with lower pressures than most if you don't want unplanned popping stopping your fun time frolics.
In conclusion...
Basically a bigger relative of Cinders, this square block sister is built for the uglier end of the ride.

Review from Bikeradar
Panaracer's fat but reasonably light Rampage is a great all-round tyre, and this new version gives even more short-term bite.
With a relatively low weight of 720g and slope-fronted Nevegal-style knobs, it's easily fast and responsive enough for trail use. Chunky shoulder knobs give a good working edge to bite into cornering and off-camber situations.
While it doesn't look much, the little 'Elastoplast' ASB chafer strip above the bead has proven itself genuinely useful for stopping pinch flats compared to conventional tyres over the years we've used it.
What the new SC version adds is a new ZSG Active soft (50 duro) compound rubber mix. This adds extra, immediately obvious adhesion to the already good all-conditions mechanical grip. The result is a tyre you can really push hard, braking later, leaning harder and generally getting away with murder and the two samples we've got have been in constant use in the last few months.
The downsides are noticeably faster wear rates and slightly slower rolling, but run it on the front where these issues matter less and grip matters more and you'll love 'em. If you manage to get one of the initial limited edition batch you can score a £27.99 intro price too.
In conclusion...
Slightly short-lived but impressively responsive, control boosting tyre that you can really push hard
