If using Rotafix use a rag between the chain on and your bottom bracket .

It has two securing holes and comes with wingnut to fit to bidon cage holes on your bike.
I keep my secured to my pump with a rubber band and keep that in my back pack / back pocket.

The tool is perfect if you've got an additional set of water bottle bosses to screw it into. If not, its still a great tool, and it may be worth it to *make* it fit.
