Raleigh, a well-known and traditional British cycling brand, has been creating bikes in Nottingham for over 125 years and is famous for building iconic kids bikes such as Burner, Grifter and Chopper. Today, Raleigh product development engineers and graphic designers ensure that the innovation continues and every Raleigh bike has a special level of quality and attention to detail.
The groupset is predominantly Shimano's 105 which is reliable working well under load, but while the finishing kit is mostly in-house, to keep the price sharp, Raleigh still opted for good quality tyres from top tyre brand Schwalbe.
The chainset is a compact and provides lower gearing for better climbing and means even on hillier terrain you shouldn't find yourself longing for a triple. Also, the Airlite geometry uses a slightly shorter top tube and higher head tube to give a more relaxed riding position reducing the stress on the back and shoulders allowing you to ride longer and harder with less fatigue.
Each Airlite is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure you're bike arrives in perfect condition.
Airlite Tubing: The Airlite range of bikes have been created to ensure the best all round frame performance. This has been accomplished by carefully assessing the purpose of each individual Airlite tube and designing the profile to suit its specific task. Each tube is produced to exacting tolerances using hydraulic and mechanical forming processes. Finally carefully controlled welding ensures optimum use of the material properties in the final frame assembly; guaranteeing you maximum enjoyment from the Airlite experience.
