Muc-Off, which has long been a staple item in every self-respecting biker's workshop, has now been updated with'Nano Tech Protection' - said to aid cleaning and prevent corrosion. it's alkaline based and also completely free from CFC's or solvents. It's an effective cleaner - in fact many riders used to find it oo powerful, because left on too long it tended to eat through paint. We haven't had any peoblems with the updated formula, but then we washed it off pretty quickly after use. The directional trigger makes it easy to use, but it's not quite up to the sparkle factor of the Hope product.
This long-time favourite now has an updated formula

A chain cleaner is one of the best things you'll ever buy if you're going to own a bike for more than a month, and this kit from Park Tool contains one of the best - the fantastic CM-5.It features a magnet in the base to attract metal particulates, and replaceable brushes, and it's a complete doddle to use. It comes with a bottle of CB-2 cleaning fluid and a great brush/scraper - the GSC-1 - for cleaning the rear sprockets.
Buy it, use it regularly, have a happy bike, buy fewer chains
X-Lite's new degreaser is the Macdaddy of degreasers...We'd recommend wearing Marigolds when applying this stuff
Awesomely strong degreaser; avoid contact with skin
The aggressive formula emulsifies dirty old oil and the powerful spray blasts it clean away, then simply give it a quick rinse with water to remove any leftover residue
Turbo injected chain cleaner-cum-degreaser
To ease the dreaded chore of de-orangifying your chain White Lightening have mated an aerosol de-greaser to a chain bath.
A clean chain once more. Quick, relatively effortless and very effective.
Chains accumulate a lot of dirt and grime which, if ignored, turns into a very costly grinding paste particluarly on multi-geared derailleur systems. Cleaning kits of this kind are not a new idea...while traditionalists might argue a 50/50 petrol/deisel mix and 'radiator' paint brush is considerably cheaper, this is arguably much better for the environment, and is less messy is time consuming, especially if you have a fleet of bikes.
Now there's no more excuses for a dirty chain.
Cleaning your chain can be a grubby affair - unless you have a Chain Doc. Using a small bath lined with rubber fins and two revolving brushes, the Chain Doc closes over your chain and then you simply spray chain cleaner into the device and rotate your cranks to pull the chain through. You can but the chain lube seperately, and you can also use the Doc to lube your chain, enabling it to penetrate every link and keeps things smooth.
A great chain cleaner that gets your chain very clean, very fast. Good for lubing too.
If you want to keep your expensive race mnachine looking brand new, then Muc-Off's miracle shine is just waht you're after. This polish, which contains three waxes, ensures a show-room shine while enduring all weathers. All you need to do is apply it to a clean surface with a soft cloth, leave it for 45secs and buff it off, making sure it doesn't dry. This will leave your bike sparkling. According to Muc-Off, several coats can be applied for even greater durability. It works on all metsl, carbon fibre, chrome and plastics, but remember not to put it braking surfaces. The wax layer certainly dispels dirt and water, to keep thinkgs clean, as well as making it easier to wash when filthy. It even helps to hide small scratches and blemishes, leaving your pride and joy shining like it's rolled out of the showroom. However, the great finish does come at a reletively high price.
Great shine; revives old bikes, keeps new bikes sparkling, easy-to-use - it requires a little elbow grease to get the desired effect.
Derived from 100% natural citrus oils, Green Oil's Green Clean is every bit as effective as other brands of miracle wash, eating road grime for breakfast and congealed grease for lunch. Kind to seals and other rubber components, it's completely harmless to plants, humans, pets and even cleans up after itself. The only things left behind are shiny steeds and a sweet citrus fragrance.Armed with a healthy scepticism and a filthy Uinivega, I shook the contents vigorously before spraying liberally over the entire bike. Thoughtfully the trigger-spray has two settings-one for maximum coverage and the other a higher-pressure meaning cleaning power can be targeted at specific areas and/or accumulated dirt.Leaving the solution to work its magic over the witch's brew of road grime, mud, congealed oils and surface spray for the recommended couple of minutes, I siphoned a bucket of rainwater from the garden butt and sloshed it over the bike using a jumbo car sponge. Credit where it's due, the solution is very potent and cold water rinsing has left most areas sparkling on the first attempt. However, some frame finishes benefit from a quick lick of funiture polish and buffing to a shine using an old T-shirt. Similarly impatient or time poor riders will be pleased to know using warm tap water and a soft brush seems even more efficient-especially tackling ingrained dirt on embossed bar wrap.Watching the ingredients consume the residual, murky pools beneath the bike-seemingly before the eyes, captivated my six year old and is likely to win brownie points with significant others too. Deliberately Prolonging exposure times and regular use shows no obvious ill effect upon delicate finishes, elastomer bushes and seals but don't overdo it and be aware that some skin types can react with the ingredients.
Effective cleaner that's tough on grime but kind to the environment
These five brushes are designed to take care of delicate, not-so-delicate and hard to reach places on your bike. The handles are a good shape, they grip when wet and have a rubber edge to protect your paintwork. They speed up and improve bike cleaning so are a worthwhile investment if ever there was one.
Will help you keep your bike in tip-top condition
