Reflective cycling gear helps other road users see you when visibility is poor. It's particularly effective if worn at eye level on your body such as around your waist or chest. Ankle bands are also very effective, as they move up and down with the pedal stroke and draw attention, as are fluttering tags on bags etc. The best thing about reflective gear is that it's always on and doesn't need batteries.

About the Respro brand

Respro Hi Viz Plain Ultra Sticker Sheet 4.1 5 35 35

Did perfect job I bought this sticker sheet as I wanted to increase the visibility of my bike at night and it certainly worked! The sheet was easy to cut up with scissors into strips that I could stick on my seat stays and mud guards. With care I was able to stick the strips on in just the right place and they certainly stick well. Despite the rounded profile of the tubes, the stickers do not peel off. Visibilty of the stickers in car headlights is outstanding and my bike looks like a Christmas tree. The whole sheet, A4 size, goes a long way and I only used about a third of it on my bike. My concern that the stickers could make my bike look tacky has not occurred as I put the stickers on very neatly. 05 November 2009

Disappointing. Not as reflective as I'd hoped I bought this and the similar 'black' sticker sheet, to apply to my helmet and bike, on the assumption the stickers would be just as reflective as the "silver" parts of, say, a hi-vis jacket or backpack cover. AFAICS they aren't anywhere near as visible and, given the price, are IMO very poor value for money. A colleague says you need to have a very small angle between the light and the viewer but that doesn't seem to me to be terribly useful. The Ronhill Vizion Snapbands which I bought at the same time seem vastly better value in terms of being seen at night. 05 April 2013

Essential safety upgrade i cut out various shapes to fit the back and side of a couple of helmets. Looks as if it is part of the original design, is very thin yet will not rub off or chip and gives excellent reflectivity at night. Difficult to justify not adding hi viz if you ride at night. One sheet is fa more than you will need! 10 March 2013

Love this stuff I'm now on my second sheet and I think it's absolutely brilliant stuff. I've mainly used it to cover the back of my messenger bag as this is the most prominent surface to drivers, but I also put it on my helmet, mudguards and other bits like that… Basically anywhere it will stick! It won't really stick to polyester material but sticks to the vinyl section of my Chrome Messenger Bag perfectly. I haven't tried putting it on my bike and wouldn't recommend it unless you're not really bothered about your paintwork. 05 February 2012

Answer:

Just peel up the edge and lift off. Clean off any residue with metholated spirits, eucalyptus oil or other similar gentle solvent. If you heat up the sticker first with a hair dryer it's much more flexible and the glue separates easier.

Try heating them up with a hairdryer, should make the glue tacky and you'll be able to just lift the stickers off.

I have applied strips from these stickers to two bags myself. They do stick, but do begin to wear out (crack and peel off) within a few weeks. Not very good for longterm use on soft fabrics I'm afraid.
