Many frame details were directly derived from the Ridley Ignite. The 6061-T6 aluminium frames have a tapered head tube, which improves the handling of the bike. The Blast frames are compatible with rim brakes, but can also be fitted with disc brakes using an integrated “post mount” system attached on the chain stay.
The blast comes fitted with a good mix of Shimano components (9 speed) and a triple chainset giving you 27 gears to play with. The Blast does come supplied with Ridley's 4ZA Carbon Rigid forks and is ideally suited to gravel tracks/paths and/or on your daily commute and comes fitted with Magura HS hydraulic rim brakes. Rolling underneath you are a pair of Shimano 29er wheels that have a pair of Continental X-King 2.2 tyres wrapped around them giving you excellent grip.
A nice bike that introduces you to the 29er/MTB market all built on an alloy frame. Each Blast is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure you're bike arrives in perfect condition.
If you are looking for a mountain bike that can comfortably negotiate bumpy, cross-country, singletracks yet still be quick and nimble on the road, then a hardtail bike is for you. Hard tail mountain bikes have front suspension, weigh less and are more pedal efficient when the terrain is smooth, than full suss bikes. A good number of single track racers still use hardtails for these reasons. At wiggle, we stock a wide variety of hardtail mountain bike brands including Felt, Focus, GT, Kona, Mongoose, Saracen and more. So if you are searching for superb, quality spec hardtail mountain bikes at great value with a legendary service to match, then you've come to the right place.
Flanders, the Flemish region of Belgium is infamous for serving up the harshest cycling conditions where driving rain, cobbled non-category climbs, snow and ice are the norm for its 6,000 racing clubs. This place, the pounding heart of a passionate cycling nation where the most revered Spring Classics unfold, is the cold steel anvil where flesh and bone are forged into the greatest racers of all time. This is Belgium, home to Ridley Bikes, and it is here where our products are engineered, hammered into raw form by the roads themselves, and where we refine them in competition. This is Ridley. We are Belgium.
