With the rider creating 80% of the drag, an aerodynamic position is vital when competing in time trials or multisport events. Even the most aerodynamically advance road bike can’t compete with a dedicated TT rig when it comes to straight line speed.
Ridley understand that the addition of any event specific bike to your collection can be a difficult and expensive commitment and so they have developed the Cheetah to provide maximum performance at a wallet friendly price point.
The Cheetah’s frame is constructed from triple butted 7005 series alloy aero tubing. This produces a stiff and responsive frame with great power transfer. The aerodynamic profile of the tubing has been developed using wind tunnel testing to ensure drag from the frae is kept to a minimum. The Cheetah also uses Ridley’s F Surface technology to create a layer of turbulent air, to allow smother air to flow more easily round the down tube and seat tube. A rear wheel cutout also reduces drag.
Shifting is taken care of by Shimano 105 derailleurs front and rear, operated via Microshift bar end shifters. This gives precise and reliable shifting throughout the 10 speed cassette. Braking is taken care of by Ridley’s own 4ZA callipers operated by Tektro TL720 aero levers.
A lightweight but ultra-stiff Truvativ Elita chainset ensures all your power is transmitted to the rear wheel. With a 53/39 standard chainring setup, to give you the right gearing for all out top speed riding.
The wheelset is the light but stiff 4ZA RC30 alloy clincher with Continental Ultrasport tyres providing excellent grip in all conditions.
Finishing kit is mostly from Deda including the tri-bar, Parabolica extensions and stem. The seatpost is Ridley’s own carbon aero equipment, finished off with a San Selle Marco Ponza Triathlon saddle.
Each Cheetah is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure you're bike arrives in perfect condition.
Time trial and triathlon racing bikes are becoming highly advanced machines, with more and more research and development being invested in them to bring out the fastest most aerodynamic machine for the pro riders, the best thing about this is that all this is made available for the public as well. Time Trial and Triathlon bikes have come a long way in recent years with new technology and materials being implemented. The technology hasn't stopped at just the frame either, wheels and aero bars have received a lot of attention along with the rest of the components, TT and tri racing bikes are becoming featherweight, aerodynamic machines helping to reduce your times. Carbon fibre, aluminium and titanium are all used to produce the lightest, stiffest and most aerodynamic frames, wheels and components. All these materials have their advantages when used correctly and can be combined to create some truly exotic machines.
Flanders, the Flemish region of Belgium is infamous for serving up the harshest cycling conditions where driving rain, cobbled non-category climbs, snow and ice are the norm for its 6,000 racing clubs. This place, the pounding heart of a passionate cycling nation where the most revered Spring Classics unfold, is the cold steel anvil where flesh and bone are forged into the greatest racers of all time. This is Belgium, home to Ridley Bikes, and it is here where our products are engineered, hammered into raw form by the roads themselves, and where we refine them in competition. This is Ridley. We are Belgium.
The size chart below will get you on the right size bike. Experienced riders may also wish to refer to the geometry chart for more detail.
Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
