Frame and Fork Features:
The HM/HR Unidirectional carbon frame is lightweight and stiff and is designed with Ridley's race proven Geometry. A tapered headtube matched with a 4ZA Oryx full carbon fork provides added stiffness at the front end.
Drivetrain and Gearing:
The X-Night 30 comes complete with Campagnolo's Centaur 10 speed drivetrain. This groupset borrows features from the company's higher end 11 speed groupsets to provide smoother shifting. The Power Shift System allows up to three downshifts at a time to give you the right gear when you need it.
The chainset is a Rotor 3DF. This comes complete with cross specific 46/36 chainrings.
Wheels and Braking:
The X-Night 30 comes complete with Fulcrum Racing Quattro CX wheels. The Fulcrum Racing series of wheels are extremely reliable and will provide you with hours of hassle-free use. The racing Quattro CX features a cross specific hub design with additional double gasket bearing seals.
The wheels come wrapped in a pair of Challenge Griffo 32mm tyres. This is the go to all round cross tyre with just the right balance between speed on firmer trails and roads and grip for all but the very muddiest conditions.
Braking is taken care of by Ridley's 4ZA Cirrus Pro Cross cantilevers providing good progressive braking in all conditions.
Finally, completing the look of the X-Night 30 is a selection of 4ZA finishing kit, with all components built in house by Ridley. This helps to keep the price down, but still provides you with good quality components matching other key cycling brands in performance and finish.

Cyclocross bikes are similar to road bike, they are lightweight, with narrow tyres and drop handlebars. However, they also share characteristics with mountain bicycles in that they utilize knobby treaded tyres for traction, and cantilever style brakes for the clearance needed due to muddy conditions. They have to be lightweight because competitors need to carry their bicycle to overcome barriers or slopes too steep to climb in the saddle. The sight of competitors struggling up a muddy slope with bicycles on their shoulders is the classic image of the sport, although un-ridable sections are generally a very small fraction of the race distance. Cross bikes also make good winter bikes or commuters, their frames have plenty of clearance which allows for mudguards, while the upright angles make them agile around town, meaning you can hit the trails at the weekend and then fit some road tyres and commute on them during the week.
Flanders, the Flemish region of Belgium is infamous for serving up the harshest cycling conditions where driving rain, cobbled non-category climbs, snow and ice are the norm for its 6,000 racing clubs. This place, the pounding heart of a passionate cycling nation where the most revered Spring Classics unfold, is the cold steel anvil where flesh and bone are forged into the greatest racers of all time. This is Belgium, home to Ridley Bikes, and it is here where our products are engineered, hammered into raw form by the roads themselves, and where we refine them in competition. This is Ridley. We are Belgium.

Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
