Same proven Ritchey quality, performance and materials now beefed up and available in trail-worthy widths.
Mountain handlebar design is full of nuance; bend, rise, sweep and width seem like subtle details, yet their impact on performance is dramatic. Tom Ritchey has been making off-road bars for decades, and his designs have not only been a staple on the World Cup cross country circuit, but have often dominated it, claiming multiple World Championship titles along the way. A perfect blend of light weight and strength, Ritchey mountain bars are rugged and tough, but clean up nice
These words evoke the core philosophy behind Ritchey's highest performance components. Over the years, Ritchey components have carried riders to victory from the Olympics to the World Cup circuit, National Championships and, of course, World Championship titles, too. Using the latest technology and materials to create components that provide weight savings without sacrificing strength, we proudly invite you to bolt on some of our WCS parts and share a bit of Ritchey's racing heritage with us. WCS by Ritchey - it's all in the name.
Covering the needs of the full spectrum, from elite competitors to recreational riders, are our WCS, Pro and Comp lines. As technology and materials evolve, so does our product line, allowing us to bring you lighter, stronger parts that deliver category leading performance and value, from WCS Carbon through Comp.
Mountain bike or flat handlebars can be made from carbon or alloy and feature various clamp sizes and bends. Oversized mtb bars have a 31.8mm clamp area, while standard bars have 25.4mm. Cross country bars are usually relatively straight, but can feature different rises which bring the grips and levers higher up, these are known as riser bars and come in low, medium and high riser bar formats. Downhill bars tend to be made of a stiffer more durable material, so are stronger and slightly heavier than a XC bar.
Ritchey is well known for ingenious mountain bikes and parts, but Tom Ritchey was building world class road frames and rethinking every part of the road bike as early as 1974---long before mountain biking came along. After decades of refinement, Ritchey road components are the lightest, strongest and highest quality parts available, and race proven by top professional teams in the world's toughest pro races. Look for Ritchey components on team bikes in the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, World Championships and Spring Classics, as well as countless other races.
