How it works
Rocktape can be used to accelerate blood flow to help delay fatigue. This keeps you fresher for a longer period of time. Rocktape can also be used to promote proper form by taping you into a position so when you become fatigued the tape helps you maintain proper form for longer periods. You can use it to encourage proper form in running, swimming, cycling, diving or just about any sports that depends on accurate and specific movement.
Rocktape can be used both to apply compression to promote recovery, or decompression to relieve pain and swelling.
Cycling Protocol
In cycling, form is critical to power and endurance. Rock tape can be applied in different ways depending on the discipline; a proper TT position is critical but when the athlete fatigues, they can fall out of form. Rocktape can reinforce the proper aero position to eliminate drag.
For road racing, Rocktape can be used to eliminate lower back, wrist or neck fatigue which may develop after racing for 4+ hours.
Construction
Rocktape is a natural-hybrid product and consists of 97% cotton, 3% nylon and uses no drugs. The adhesive is a hypo-allergenic acrylic based adhesive and contains no latex. In the manufacturing process, a bias is introduced into the weave of the fabric so it stretches in one direction and not the other. This creates a bio-mechanical lifting mechanism which lifts the skin away from the soft tissue. This allows blood to move into an injured area which accelerates healing and recovery.
About the Rocktape brand
Rocktape was started by a committed amateur athlete, who like many athletes, developed minor sports injuries, some of which requires physical therapy. He discovered that taping his legs not only helped him overcome injury but actually enhanced his performance. He located a tape source, modified the formula and Rock tape was born; to provide the benefits to the sporting community.
