Rotor 3D cranks are the first cranks to have been designed with the input of a pro cycling team - together with Rotor engineers, the 3D crank was born. The result is an extremely stiff chainset, but lightweight also.

Utilising a special manufacturing process, named the "Trinity Drilling System," an extruded aluminium bar is intricately CNC machined with three drilled holes through the length of the crank. The result is a unique triple hollow crank arm that enables Rotor's engineers to remove the excess aluminium in the core while still maintaining the structural strength of the crank.
No attention to detail has been missed by Rotor, even the graphic design on the 3D Cranks is unique with their impressive laser graphics. 3D crank uses a new variant of DTT Evo technology in the left crank.
3D crank has evolved the Agilis Evo design in fixing the axle to the right crank. The left crank is now used to assemble or disassemble the crankset with a low torque axle end bolt and the new DTT Evo clamping bolt. The opposite paired bolt system (the most common in the market) is no longer needed.
Instead of the opposite paired bolts, an oversized DTT Evo bolt distributes the load forces along the thread. 3D cranks installation is completely conventional but with improvements in both the efficiency and stiffness of the axle-crank interface. See the attached picture.
In order to avoid overtightening, Rotor 3D cranks include a replaceable threaded bushing between the crank and the bolt. In case of bolt failure due to overtightening, the crank is not affected and is easily repaired.
Chainrings: Pair of Chainrings to fit compact 110mm BCD, compatible with all makes of cranks at 110mm Bolt centre Diameter.
Bottom Bracket: Rotor and CeramicSpeed joined forces creating a bottom bracket with appealing looks and ease of use. The BB1 is incredibly light and will match up with all high end cranks with looks and performance, Will work with all 24mm axles using external bearing system. Bearings are replacable.
This is ideal for those looking to shed every possible gram while at the same time acquiring an incredibly smooth bottom bracket.
Your chainset must fit onto your bottom bracket! There are currently four chainset/bottom bracket interfaces that you're likely to come across. If your bottom bracket is made by Shimano and it has splines, then you need an Octalink chainset. If your b/b is NOT made by Shimano and it has splines, it's almost certainly ISIS. There are a very few non-Shimano chainsets with Shimano Octalink interfaces so, to be sure, count the splines - ISIS has 9, Octalink has (surprise, surprise) 8. No matter which brand of b/b you have, if it has a square interface, it will require a traditional square taper chainset. If you have one of the new Hollowtech II systems, you will need to choose the exact chainset that matches your bottom bracket. Most MTB chainsets are now 9-speed compatible but these will work with an 8-speed system.
