The XR Guidance is for higher mileage runners who transition between trail and pavement, and want motion control. XR's amazing fit comes from sensiflex, soft reinforcement on the ball of the foot, and the sensifit system to wrap around the upper instep precisely.
An oversized tendon midsole component provides a smooth cushioned ride with energy return for long runs. And a new chevron pattern contagrip outsole ensures precise grip on virtually any surface. Pronator is reinforced in the midsole and upper on the medial side to ensure proper foot motion.

The foot often sits slightly lower to the ground than usual for stability and responsiveness. Offroad shoes often have less cushioning than a road shoe because they're designed for softer surfaces. You should choose offroad shoes if you do a lot of off-road running and need shoes with extra traction, more durable uppers and extra protection from the terrain.
