The XR Pronator is for higher mileage runners who transition between trail and pavement, and want motion control. Perfect fit comes from Salomon's Sensiflex, soft reinforcement on the ball of the foot, and the Sensifit system to wrap around the upper instep precisely. An Oversized Tendon midsole component provides a smooth cushioned ride with energy return for long runs. And a new chevron pattern Contagrip outsole ensures precise grip on virtually any surface. Pronator is reinforced in the midsole and upper on the medial side to ensure proper foot motion.
About Offroad Running Shoes
Offroad or "trail" shoes offer increased outsole traction and uppers with toe bumpers and reinforced stitching for more durability. The foot often sits slightly lower to the ground than usual for stability and responsiveness. Offroad shoes often have less cushioning than a road shoe because they're designed for softer surfaces. Am sure these would be fine for an Ultra, especially if it has an offroad element. If all on roads you may get better wear from a high mileage road shoe.

Does this ease with use?

10 1/2 fits me perfectly in Mizuno, but for these I needed 11.
Better to return yours for 1/2 size larger.
