Like the original, the Mirage 2 is designed to be lightweight and incredibly responsive, with just a touch of guidance for the neutral to slight overpronator. The Mirage 2 is a shoe which feels great, with bags of cushioning and just enough support to control the majority of runners.
Since its inception last year, Saucony’s minimalist range has provided lightweight, flexible, but still supremely cushioned running shoes. The Mirage (and it’s sibling, the Kinvara) have become two of the best selling running shoes in Saucony’s line.
The second edition of the Mirage uses exactly the same midsole and outsole combination, but it’s the upper which has been upgraded to be even more minimal. By using more welds and less synthetic overlays, Saucony have been able to provide support to the foot whilst removing stitching and other potential irritation points. There is also Saucony’s new HydraMAX moisture management fabric in the collar and tongue lining and a significant increase in the HRC cushioning along the boarding inside the shoe.

About Offroad Running Shoes
Offroad or "trail" shoes offer increased outsole traction and uppers with toe bumpers and reinforced stitching for more durability. The foot often sits slightly lower to the ground than usual for stability and responsiveness. Offroad shoes often have less cushioning than a road shoe because they're designed for softer surfaces. You should choose offroad shoes if you do a lot of off-road running and need shoes with extra traction, more durable uppers and extra protection from the terrain.
