About the Schwalbe brand
For over 70 years Schwalbe have dominated the two wheeled tyre industry in Germany and Europe, being voted best MTB tyre brand in Germany for the past two years. From the very early beginnings where the company founder, Earnest-Wilhelm Bohle capitalised on the developing cycle industry, to the ultra modern distribution facility near Cologne, Schwalbe have continued to design and manufacture some of the finest bicycle tyres available. Schwalbe's success is due in part to the effort it makes in product development from lab tests at the manufacturing facility to the hardest proving grounds of all, professional cycle racing. 'Team Gerolsteiner' achieved a very creditable 7th place overall in the 2004 Tour de France and the unique performance of team captain Davide Rebellin winning three major classic races back to back using Schwalbe tyre. Other notable succeses include Normann Stadler winning the infamous Ironman triathlon in Hawaii, riding Schwalbe Stelvio tyres.

Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Contrary to the other answer, I recommend this tyre. The Durano Folding has low rolling resistance, great grip on asphalt in dry as well as wet conditions (insane cornering in dry), high puncture resistance to glass shards (wire and tacks get through) and it is very light so spins up noticeably quickly. It is an excellent fast commuting tyre. After riding 26 x 2.0 slicks you will be amazed.
Although the tyre is remarkably puncture resistant the grippy compound does suffer from cuts. My tyres have many that are 3-4 mm long and extend through the rubber and down to the puncture resistant RaceGuard layer of the carcass but this doesn't seem to affect their performance. I commute in suburban Melbourne, Aus, where the puncture challenge is not insubstantial. However, if you ride through areas routinely strewn with glass it may be worth considering something like a Schwalbe Marathon Supreme Folding 26 x 1.6 (42-559) - still very fast, not quite so light, but another step up in terms of durability and puncture resistance.
It is possible to use your existing tube, but you will most likely pinch and puncture it during fitting. This tyre in a whole lot narrower than a typical knobbly off road tyre.
Your best bet is to get a smaller tube - 26x1-1.5. This will prevent much cursing and frustration!
I have some on my Mavic 721's, a little tight to get on, but they wont come off mid-corner.
Will these tyres fit tubeless Mavic crossmax SLR rims? Plus what size inner tubes would you recommend, the lighter the better.
I await your reply
