The Marathon Deluxe from Schwalbe is the luxury version of the classic marathon tyre. Saving almost 0.5kg on the weight but maintaining all of the puncture protection made possible with Schwalbe's Double Defence technology.
|Wheel Size:||700c (622)|
HD Speed Guard
An extremely cut-resistant high-tech fibre makes it possible to ensure even on very light tires an extraordinary high level of puncture resistance. In combination with SnakeSkin sidewall protection, we call it Double Defense Technology.
Same protection level 5 as V-Guard and GreenGuard.
Air suspension built-in.
The Big Apple started off the Balloonbike trend ten years ago: Comfortable cycling without using complicated technology! Air cushion tyres are used as natural suspension. Inflated to around 2 Bar a Balloonbike rolls really easily and with a full suspension effect. A normal tyre with a width of 37mm must be inflated to a rock-hard 4 bar, in order to roll similarly well.
Triple Star Compound
Schwalbe's best and most sophisticated compound. Triple compound. Perfectly adapted to the specific purpose. MTB (PaceStar, TrailStar, VertStar), Roadrace (RaceStar, WetStar), Tour (RoadStar, TravelStar).
Schwalbe's most effective inventions for Mountainbikes. SnakeSkin fabric adds only ca. 40-50 g per tyre. This makes it the most practical protection against sharp rocks that can easily cut the side wall of light racing tyres.
The twin protector. High Density Guard + SnakeSkin. More safety for light off-road tires is impossible.
These tyres are designed to meet the rigours of city/trail riding and will fit Hybrid styled bikes, they are wider than a road race tyre to offer a larger contact area with the road and will provide more comfort. Wider tyres are less prone to punctures and will provide more grip. Within this range we offer semi slick or knobbly tyres, the semi slick tyres will be ideal for road use and the knobbly style will provide more grip for light trail use or loose surfaces such as gravel.
For over 70 years Schwalbe have dominated the two wheeled tyre industry in Germany and Europe, being voted best MTB tyre brand in Germany for the past two years. From the very early beginnings where the company founder, Earnest-Wilhelm Bohle capitalised on the developing cycle industry, to the ultra modern distribution facility near Cologne, Schwalbe have continued to design and manufacture some of the finest bicycle tyres available. Schwalbe's success is due in part to the effort it makes in product development from lab tests at the manufacturing facility to the hardest proving grounds of all, professional cycle racing. 'Team Gerolsteiner' achieved a very creditable 7th place overall in the 2004 Tour de France and the unique performance of team captain Davide Rebellin winning three major classic races back to back using Schwalbe tyre. Other notable succeses include Normann Stadler winning the infamous Ironman triathlon in Hawaii, riding Schwalbe Stelvio tyres.
