PSP22 should be your choice for a fast and sustained energy boost. Versatile enough for use before, during or after exercise.

High grade maltodextrin provides glucose polymers which keep the energy high and the osmolality low - putting less pressure on the stomach. Fructose helps maximise energy delivery as it is absorbed using a different mechanism than glucose.

Only natural flavours are used which give a clean refreshing taste.
Use before as an easy way to take on board low bulk carbohydrate for carbo-loading and boosting the carbohydrate in pre-exercise meals, use during exercise as a power packed drink to energize your performance or use after to re-fuel your muscles.

PSP22 contains multiple energy sources to maximize energy supply to the muscles and liver, and is light on the stomach so can be taken at high concentrations for maximum energy. Available in Orange, Lemon and Blackcurrant flavour, or non-flavoured Original.

Effective energy drink The blackcurrant drink tasted OK, although I'm not sure what the point of putting sweetener instead of sugar into an energy drink is. It certainly worked in terms of energy and dissolved easily when making up new bottles whilst out on the road. I would still take isotonic drinks in addition on a long ride, as this isn't intended to replace salts, but it is good value for what it does. 15 July 2010

Good for longer rides As a relative amateur I decided I needed a boost when doing a 4 day, charity cycle, and this is what I chose. There is only so much you can eat when in the saddle all day, and this really helped to keep my energy levels topped up. I thought the lemon taste was perfectly palatable, although I did find having a bottle of straight water was good as I didn't always feel like a sweet(ish) drink. 13 July 2010

Works for me one of the most palatable energy drinks i have tried. Use it before most rides now as it helps boost my poor training diet especially on weekdays when there hasnt been time to eat well. mixes quite easily. I would like if it came with a measuring scoop. 05 July 2010

To be fair, I only tried one flavor - blackcurrant. I disliked the taste so much when I was running, that even in over 35 degree celsius heat, I could not drink enough (I just couldn't bear to drink it). It isn't overly sweet, but the blackcurrant taste tasted horrible and very synthetic. 29 September 2012

Good for cold weather?

For cold weather use and +/-40 mile rides, would PSP22 be preferable to SIS Go drink? I usually don't get up such a sweat in Scotland in the winter that electrolyte replacement is a major concern.

Either will do but PSP22 is more of an energy/fluid drink and whereas Go is a just fluid replacement drink.

Answer:

The Go drink is designed to rehydrate, whilst the PSP22 is more for high energy riding. I use PSP22 for fast riding or racing and Go for long distance rides of lower intensity where dehydration and cramp can creep up on you.

Answer:

If you are using this to rehydrate, then the electrolytes will aid absorption of water, particularly if made slightly weaker than normal (hypotonic). If you need a fuel strategy then try the PSP energy or just do what I do and pile into a big plate of porridge before a big ride. I can go 80 miles or more with just the addition of one gel and not feel hungry or tired.

I am sorry but i am not an expert on energy food but if you require electrolyte replacement everyone is raving about the nunn tablets which are specialy designed for that purpose and could be used in conjunction with other energy products.
