The Dusters are a Flat-Forward, race ready proven design that allow hours in the saddle. Using a Flex-Cavity I-Beam which suspends the monorail for added comfort and shock absorption and D2 Edge Flex dual injected base system.
|Padding Material:||Super-lightweight EVA foam|
|Rail Material:||I Beam Mono Rail|
|Use:||MTB, CX, Road|
The globally patented I-Beam Technology is the original seat-to-post connection, featuring a monorail design which is proprietary to the SDG brand, allowing the ultimate strength to weight ratio with more fore and aft adjustment capabilities than most traditional rails. All I-Beam Dusters use the Flex-Cavity I-Beam which suspends the monorail for added comfort and shock absorption.
Using a Light-Weight Nylon Glass Fibre base and D2 Edge Flex System, this dual injected base features a soft, rubberized compound along the outer edges of the saddle which allows flex through each pedal stroke, while keeping the centre stiff for ultimate power transfer.
Engineered with a snag less rear and nose platform, the Dusters are constructed with a Super light weight EVA foam and designed for those who desire less pelvis rotation and more mobility. Ergonomically designed with a tip to tail peri-canal for added comfort relief makes the Duster an ultimate tool for numerous riding disciplines.
Performance saddles are narrower than the models designed for shorter ride comfort. They're intended for riders who have a committed riding style with weight on hands and feet so they're narrower and lighter. High tech padding materials and flexible body designs keep your pressure points comfortable and lightweight chassis components keep the weight down. Most have some kind of ergonomic design to reduce pressure on nerves and allow unrestriced blood flow to your sensitive areas. Womens models have a wider design to suit their naturally wider pelvis. Saddle widths vary across the ranges from narrow (upto 130mm), medium (upto 138mm) to wide (upto 146mm). Narrower saddles are the popular choice for longer distance riders as they do not cause the hips to be placed in an unnatural position. Wider saddles will often feel comfortable initially due to their greater surface area but then progressively decrease in comfort as the miles increase, the correct choice of saddle is a case of getting the balance between initial comfort and overall comfort.
Jerome’s first product was a seat made specifically for mountain bikers, replacing the delicate leather used by traditional European seat makers with a super-tough and light weight material known as “Kevlar”. Operating from a small factory in Southern California (a place they still call home), S.D.G. crafted unique, high-quality seats by hand, slowly carving out a niche among the mountain bike cognoscenti. During the mid 1990’s S.D.G. introduced some of the best-loved, lightest weight saddles, featuring super-light foams, and distinctively stitched covers. Many have become “classics”, and some, like the Bel Air, Satellite and Slim Jim, are still in production. By the end of the ‘90’s S.D.G. seats were standard equipment on most top-shelf mountain bikes.
