The Mid Light is waterproof and is cut high enough to stop water getting in the top...The problem with the layer design is it's bulk, which tends to get crammed inside a lightweight race shoe...A better bet is the £20 Bike Sock, at half the thickness

You wear the SealSkinz like a regular sock and a merino wool lining guarantees that they feel comfortable next to your skin. The Porelle membrane waterproofs them and - even in the worst conditions where your feet get wet - with SealSkinz in place our feet have never been cold.

In conclusion...

They may be a bit bulky, but the SealSkinz are very comfortable and you can just bung them in the washing machine with the rest of your kit at the end.
