Shimano's top road pedal has seen a makeover. It now has a wider platform and low stack height for better and more efficient power transfer.
It's good to see a stainless body cover replacing the plastic one of the older version as this tended to wear prematurely. The bodies are almost flex-free yet remain durable and run on super smooth ball and needle roller bearings for a velvety and maintenance-free ride.
Entry couldn't be easier with a large binding target. Spring tension is adjustable to dial in for personal taste, and float comes down to the cleats used; they're available with zero or three degrees in either direction. These pedals don't take much getting used to and it's more about what you don't notice than what you do.
The Dura-Ace pedals certainly perform well, although they are a little heavier than some of the other big names out there.
In conclusion...
A great update making a good pedal better
