About Offroad Shoes
MTB Cycling shoes have stiffer soles than an everyday shoe, like a trainer for instance, this means that they transfer more power to the pedals each time you push down. By improving this connection between your foot and the pedal, you can ride longer due to more efficiency and with more comfort. Higher level shoes will have 3 straps on the upper which make them very adjustable and can improve comfort further. Mountain bike shoes have a knobbly grippy sole so you can dismount and run with the bike off road when needed, or walk for small periods if popping to the shops. They are a true all round shoe that can be used for off road, road, touring and commuting.

Are Shimano M077 SPD MTB Shoes & Shimano PD-M520 Pedals compatible with Shimano SPD MTB Cleats??
Answers
These shoes and Shimano M520s were my first clipless set. It was a good choice.
I have never, ever regretted my decision. Not even when I fell over in the middle of a crowded intersection with about a hundred onlookers. I was glad I had got it over with, and happily continued on my way.
I also have one bike with the SPD pedals that have a flat side and an spd side. These shoes are fine with both.
I have far too many shoes. But these M077s will probably outlast my more expensive shoes.
Please note, cleats will be included with the pedals not the shoes.
Answers
The pair I bought are exactly as the photo on the website, which is why I got them, as I wanted something understated.

Everyone advises going for a size up on your regular shoe size but despite my wide fitting i could probably have gone with a size 12 uk instead of the 13 i bought.
Overall i am very pleased with them and would recommend them.
Thanks

Shimano PD-R540 SPD SL Sport Pedals?
Thanks
Answers
As SPD SL pedals require (3 bolt) cleats.
Taking into account Shimano's iffy sizing, do you think an EU size 47 would be large enough for a UK size 12 foot?
