About Offroad Shoes
MTB Cycling shoes have stiffer soles than an everyday shoe, like a trainer for instance, this means that they transfer more power to the pedals each time you push down. By improving this connection between your foot and the pedal, you can ride longer due to more efficiency and with more comfort. Higher level shoes will have 3 straps on the upper which make them very adjustable and can improve comfort further. Mountain bike shoes have a knobbly grippy sole so you can dismount and run with the bike off road when needed, or walk for small periods if popping to the shops. They are a true all round shoe that can be used for off road, road, touring and commuting.

Magazine reviews for Shimano MW80 MTB Cycling Shoes
Review from MBUK
Shimano's winter boots have been slowly evolving for years, and now we reckon they offer the best comfort, cosiness and cost balance around.
The insulated liner and soft Polyurethane-coated leather upper make them immediately comfortable and snug, with extra toe and heel protection for rocky stumbles. The Gore-Tex liner keeps them dry through most shallow puddles too, although water does eventually seep in through the neoprene cuff on long, wet rides.
The reinforced sole stops uncomfortable cold spots when pedalling hard, and the sole grips well on wet rock and mud. It's best to check fit first if you use fat socks and they do take awhile to dry.
In conclusion...
A great balance of comfort, cosiness and cost makes these our winning winter boot.

Review from Bikeradar
Winter riding means wet and cold, and the first place you start to feel the effect of this onslaught is your feet. And once the pinkies are cold, they staycold. But Shimano's new MW80 could be the answer to your problems.
Based around their resin performance sole is a GoreTex insulated upper with a PU-coated waterproof booty. The shoe is as waterproof as a canoe. With seam sealed construction, the added 'splash deck' neoprene collar stops any ingress of cold and wet from above.
The thick upper adds insulation, but that does mean you need to be careful when buying, because they come up a little small. Once sized correctly, they are very comfortable and offer a solid pedal platform and reasonable grip for walking.
Best of all, they really do keep your tootsies toastie, even in the most vile conditions, and for us, that's worth the hefty price.
In conclusion...
Great GoreTex glory boots to fend off the minging winter
