Make sure the gear levers you choose are the correct ones for your rear cassette - either 8/9 or 10 speed. Also check that the integrated brake levers (if fitted) are cable or hydraulic to suit your brake calipers. Most SRAM shifters are only compatible with their own derailleurs.

I had flat bars fitted to my Scott carbon fibre bike after a lot of back trouble. Originally I used XT shifters ,which proved useless and was advised to put R440 on. These have worked brilliantly and are much easier to use than the Ultegra STI levers on my drop bars. The only thing I am not certain about is the front shifter, as my bike was fitted with a triple chainset, but I am reasonably sure they will work ok. with a double.
