The XT front deraileur is engineered for the way you ride.
As Mountain bikes continue to become more diverse, obviously components must evolve. Shimano's new Deore XT addresses the various needs of today's riders. New derailleurs specially designed for all mountain riding. Together with double-servo mechanism derailleurs now, you have the right choices for several off road riding styles. With the same concept as XTR, the new DEORE XT is born.
Various derailleur systems were designed and built as far back as the late 1800s. A French bicycle tourist, writer and cycling promoter Paul De Vivie (1853-1930), invented a two speed rear derailleur in 1905 which he used on forays into the Alps, and we wonder if 20 gears are enough. Since then there has been many advancements in the number of gears, materials and reductions in weight. Wiggle lists a large selection of front and rear derailleurs catering for double and triple systems with 7, 8, 9, 10 and even 11 speed cassettes.

Front mechs are the Cinderella of any drivetrain, but never has an easy shifting life been so affordable.
New XT's lighter cage brings it to within 25g of XTR, while steel cages ensure a longer lifespan. Broader linkage means burly chain bullying, and they've even nibbled a bit off the back corner for extra tyre clearance. Limiter screws are angled for easy access, it comes in every top mount/ low mount/E type you could want, and it uses a universal shimmed fit so a new bike doesn't mean a new derailleur every time.
