About Body Armour
Cycling Body armour is a wise investment for both downhill and trials riding where falls and impacts into immovable objects are always a possibility. Body armour is light, unrestrictive and inexpensive when compared to the alternatives of not wearing it. Some riders even claim that Body armour can increase your confidence levels, which may make you ride faster. Wiggle stocks a large range of body armour which can cover the knees and shin, elbows, shoulders and chest. A lot of manufacturers, such as Dainese, Sixsixone and Thor produce all-in-one armoured jackets to cover the entire upper body for extreme descents. The most common advice with body armour is to buy it 'before' you 'need' it, rather than 'after' you 'needed' it.
About the SixSixOne brand
SixSixOne manufactures a specialist range mountain bike (MTB) Helmets, knee, shin and, elbow protection. SixSixOne's aim is to cater for all your cycling protection needs, no matter what you get up to on the track or trail.

Magazine reviews for SixSixOne Kyle Strait Knee Pads
Review from MBR
The slipper-fit Kyle Straits are, without a doubt, the most comfortable pad on test. Thanks in part to an asymmetric design and well-ventilated fabrics; they are truly a fit-and-forget garment. Although flexible, the main plastic knee shell is flimsy compared to the others on test, but protection is supplemented by foam padding on either side of the knee cap to guard against impacts such as top-tube knocks. We found that the Kyle Straits were slightly oversized compared to the other mediums on test, so it could be worth trying a size smaller than you would normally wear.
In conclusion...
The SixSixOne is barely perceptible to the wearer, allows for unrestricted pedalling and combines reasonable protection with solid value.
Rating: 8/10
Review from What MTB
Like putting on a new pair of socks, these guards fit perfectly and feel great when you're out on the trail. They preotect the front sides of the knee very well, stay put when you're pedalling and are still light enough and comfy enough for full days out.
In conclusion...
More FR than XC, but still a great performer
