The slipper-fit Kyle Straits are, without a doubt, the most comfortable pad on test. Thanks in part to an asymmetric design and well-ventilated fabrics; they are truly a fit-and-forget garment. Although flexible, the main plastic knee shell is flimsy compared to the others on test, but protection is supplemented by foam padding on either side of the knee cap to guard against impacts such as top-tube knocks. We found that the Kyle Straits were slightly oversized compared to the other mediums on test, so it could be worth trying a size smaller than you would normally wear.
In conclusion...
The SixSixOne is barely perceptible to the wearer, allows for unrestricted pedalling and combines reasonable protection with solid value.
