The end of each mudguard extends to below the hub axle. This length ensures that you, and also the cyclist behind you, are spared from splashing. The Race Blade Long can easily be mounted on almost any racing bike and perfectly adapted to the radius of the wheel by adjusting the length of the stays.

The clip connections ensure that the Race Blade Long can be removed very quickly from the racing bike when not needed, leaving only the metal mounting brackets.

Should be better! These initially work well, being much more sturdy than my previous crud catchers, and less prone to rub. If you have an old set of cruds you can even continue to use the wrap around bit that fits behind the seat tube by screwing it to the SKS brake mount rather than the silly little guard that comes with these, and have complete protection. I thought they were near perfect for all winter use. But the clips quickly wear, and the guards rattle no matter what you do. Eventually the little front guard detached itself, never to be seen again. At least that was one less annoying rattle! Then the rear spray catcher disappeared. Neither things really affected performance much though. However, they finally failed when the front guard simply snapped and half of it fell off. There was no impact, or twist - it seems to simply suffered from fatigue through vibration or rubbing from the stays and snapped cleanly. Not brilliant value given they're not cheap and they've only lasted one winter of, admittedly, fairly hard use. 22 April 2013

Let down by poor/ sloppy clips Not the easiest to fit but got there in the end. Coverage is very good however, it is amazing how much muck appears around the brakes where there is no protection. The stays which clip into the mounts soon become loose and rattle. A rattle which I have been unable to stop. The front part of the guard, another clip fit, no longer clips into position and fell off. I have not been able to secure since so have removed it. I would say that this is potentially a good product however SKS need to come up with a more robust design. If they did, I would probably buy again. 09 April 2013

They fall apart quickly I bought these just months ago and they have fallen apart. The fittings become loose and quickly require tape/tie cables to help hold them on. The rear mudgaurd came away from the fitting and ended up lodge between frame and wheel almost causing an accident on a club run. These are not fit for purpose and definitely not worth the price. Im now shopping for a replacement as the rear gaurd now lies at the side of the road. 17 February 2013

This contradicts the answer to the next question down which says that the German web site is correct and these ARE OK for 18-32 not just 18-23!

Please can Wiggle check and post the right answer in both question and answer threads!?

Unfortunately not. These are only suitable for tyre widths between 18-23 mm. If you require clearance for 25 mm tyres the SKS Race Blade XL Clip On Mudguard Set are going to be the best option.

It will fit 25mm tyres but if you have only 3-4mm clearance without these put on then i expect they wont fit, i had at least double nearly triple clearance on my bike.
