A road bike specific seatpad, specially engineered to meet the demands of pro cyclists and high mileage riders who spend long hours in the saddle. The Road Performance Carbonium seatpad features Ultra high density perineal inserts strategically placed in key pressure points for optimum cushioning and load distribution in the tucked cycling position. Solo Solo Retro Tech Bib Shorts 2 5 1 1

Not a 'high end' short (not even close) I took a bit of a gamble on these shorts and bought them based on reviews from elsewhere and the general consensus being that Solo sell good quality kit. Removing them from the packaging, within seconds I felt very disappointed and underwhelmed with the look and feel of the shorts. Ok, maybe it will all become apparent when I try them on? No, theres an annoying flap in the material that bridges the seat of the shorts and the bib braces, which is flatlock stitched but quite rough. I could feel it rubbing on my back, which would of been a bit tedious after a few hours of riding. The panel around the middle is also very loose fitting and not proportionate with other panels of the shorts. It would definitely gape and subsequently chafe when out on the bike. The shorts themselves sit quite high around your middle so, toilet stops would be a bit of a tricky affair. I can't comment on how they actually perform on the bike as I wanted to return them and didn't want to wear them. I have shorts that have cost half as much and are twice as good in terms of quality/feel/fit. Possibly the worst bit of cycling kit I've had the 'pleasure' of trying. I've since bought some shorts made by a popular Swiss company for near enough the same money and am extremely pleased with them. Justifying their price tag. 10 August 2012

Sizing

How do these shorts come up, size wise? Is the size chart accurate or would you recommend ordering a larger size than usual?

Answer:

The size chart is pretty accurate. I ordered a size 14 and it's slightly on the large size. The shorts are an excellent fit but the straps are just a tad long for my height...5ft 3".
