bad taste Althought the bottle was niffty the cola caffine gel tasted aweful. I've tried loads of gel and can put up with most of them, don't really mind the stranges taste but this one was just aweful! 04 January 2013

Undrinkable contents but bottle is ace! I ended up pouring away the contents of my bottles - bought orange which tasted powdery and artificial and cola which was just palatable but there are way better tasting gels on the market. I was initially attracted to this product because of the bottle and after I washed out the original contents I replaced it with a couple of my usual gels and some water and haven't looked back since so for the bottle alone it was worth the purchase. 18 November 2012

Good concept Really like the re-usable nature of the bottle. Flavour isn't too bad but could be sweeter. Overall a good purchase and would buy again. 08 February 2012

Excellent nutrition! I like this product. Previously I avoided the use of gels. This gel bottle changes all of that. I find them easy to open (just like a regular drinks bottle), no mess, easy to find in a pocket, refillable, considerably cheaper (especially once you factor in the refill the cost of each 25g of gel is about 1/2 of the cost of a normal gel packet). I have been using these in training, I used to reserve gels only for races due to the shear expense of them (if you train for longer distances such as ironman like me the cost of the using gels as the primary source of nutrition is £3 per hour. You will spend an average of about 5 hours or more per week on the bike, over a 25 week training plan this cost is prohibitive. Even using them as a supplement to other forms of nutrition so bringing the cost down to £1 p/hr or less that's still £100 a year, not mention hours running). Also I didn't like the sticky mess, the litter (especially in races) and the faff of attempting to open them one-handed in aero position. I must admit when I first tried it the cola flavour seemed shockingly harsh on the back of the throat, but I quickly adjusted to that. But you may need a sip of drink to cut through the taste. It sits very easily in the stomach though, and the caffine is a nice perk-up. My only other slight bugbear is that the bottle isn't clear so you can't see how much you have left. The bottle though will carry more than the 125 ml so when refilling you can fit more in. I have only given it 4 stars for these minor reasons (flavour, opaqueness). 22 July 2011
