About Bottom Brackets
Bicycle bottom brackets connect the cranks to the bike and allow the crank arms to rotate. There are various sizes of bottom bracket shell on the market, so compatibility needs to be checked. The three most common frame bottom bracket shell widths are 68mm (English threaded road and mtb), 70mm (Italian threaded road) and 73mm (British threaded mtb). There are also many axle shapes and styles, from JIS or ISO square tapers through to the round splined axles such as ISIS or Octalink and then there is the new external cup systems which have the axle built into the crank arms. Some frames are now using the new BB30 system which uses bearings pushed directly into the frame and removes the needs for cups to be threaded into the frame.
About the SRAM brand
Product manuals and service guides for all SRAM, Rockshox, Avid and Truvativ products can be found at sram.com or videos can be found on YouTube. SRAM Corporation was founded in Chicago, IL (USA) in 1987 by six employees with one component, Gripshift Twist Shifters. Today, SRAM’s commitment and growth can be measured by its 1,500 employees, its 150+ cycling products, and it’s 12 facilities worldwide. SRAM has found tremendous growth through innovative products, unparallel customer service, strong sales, and complimentary acquisitions. SRAM acquisitions include Sachs Bicycle Components, purchased in 1997, a leading manufacturer of chains, cassettes and hubs. In 2002 SRAM purchased RockShox, the world’s mountain bike suspension specialist. 2004 brought the purchase of both Avid brakes and Truvativ cranks and components. The addition of these companies has allowed SRAM to grow into the world’s second largest component supplier to the cycling industry. SRAM's core philosophy is to make cycling better. Their commitment is expressed in their local, national and international team and event sponsorship.

Which bottom bracket will fit a 2007 Boardman Team Carbon, the english or italian thread?
thank you
Answers
I have a Boardman Team Pro 2009, I just replaced my BB and I used the English thread. My reasoning was: where was the bike manufactured or for which market? English seemed like the correct choice and it worked.
Regards,
Julius

Will this BB be a straight replacement on my Scott Genius with a truvativ GXP crank set?
Answers
The BB does not appear to fit my scott scale (73mm shell) with e-type derailleur.
Please advise.
Answers
Is it the complete bottom bracket?
Is it 68mm compatible?
If not, do you sell 68mm non ceramic GXP bottom brackets?
thanks
Answers
They are called cups because with the modern crank sets the axle is part of the crank rather than part of the bottom bracket.
Will the Truvativ GXP replace my FSA Eva bottom bracket currently on my Focus Cayo Expert?
