Wiggle stocks a large range of brake blocks for road calliper brakes, v-brakes and cantilever brakes. Brake blocks are available in various fitments and compounds to suit your needs, softer pads will wear quickly but are ideal for wet weather use, whereas hard compound pads will last but not offer great wet weather performance. Best to use a bit of sandpaper and clean them up before using the carbon rims though.
I just sandpaper the black colour off, so they are yellow again, and then use them with carbon rims.
I have had no problems using this strategy.
The brakes may wear slightly quicker but least you know your high priced carbon rims will be fine!!
I think you want the pad to wear out, and not the carbon too, although I can't say how well these yellows will last, just that braking is good.
