Water bottles and cages are essential items for your bike, fluid replenishment is essential for long term activities and fitting a water bottle and cage to your bike is the perfect way of keeping you hydrated. Studies show that loss of fluid equal to 2% of your body mass is sufficient to cause a significant decrease in performance. Bottle cages have also received the lightweight treatment with materials such as carbon, titanium and alloy often used. These cages will accept water bottles from 500ml up to 1,000ml, making it possible to carry 2,000ml of fluid on your bike. It's also worth using an Energy drink whilst riding as these will help replace minerals lost through sweating.

A simple idea I brought this for my daughters bike as it did not have anywhere to mount a bottle and she wanted one with the hot summer. After receiving the bracket it was fitted with ease to the bike and then attached the bottle cage it it. I was a little surprised that it did not come with the bolts to mount the bottle cage to it but it did come with all other fittings. While it is a little pricey it is a great piece of kit if you don't have any other options about where to mount the bottle or you need more bottles for a longer journey. 13 July 2010

disappointing.... during my first long ride with this product the cage came loose and smashed onto the road with the cages attached.... wasted purchase and $$$ ... now looking for a better quality product... very disappointing.... 10 February 2013

Works well, tighten those bolts though Does what it says on the tin. Can be a little fiddly to get the fit right, and i would recommend that you go all out to tighten down all the bolts as the last thing you need on a ride is to see your precious bottles disappearing down the road as your fast moving groupetto carries on in the other direction. 09 December 2012

good quality item i purchased this as i was fed up of things getting wet in my saddle bag(cheap one). I use this with a storage bottle which as solved the problem totally. this item is a very sturdy piece of kit and is well made. Only gripe is they could have used captive nuts as is a bit fiddly and they only give enough for one holder,so if you was using 2 bottle holders you've got to source some more which is a bit of a ball ache if your holder doesn't come with them. 31 August 2012

The mount contains 3 spaces. the centre is for one bottle cage and the 2 slanted sides are for 2 bottle cages.

The included piece for the mount basically gives you three different sets of mounting holes. So you can use two cages or one cage, but you will have to supply your own cages to make it work.

Depends on the saddle bag/seatpack in question!

This mount is the identical one to that Profile used for their system (which I have) before they appear to have changed the bracket.

If your seatpack has a rigid "twist into place between the rails" mount (as the old Cannondales had) it will be very tricky, possibly needing you to remove the saddle from the seatpost.
If it uses straps looped over each rail however, chances are you'll be fine, although longer seatpacks may limit how far the bracket can pivot downwards behind your saddle.

there are 2 square nuts supplied which fit in the square recesses in the back of the cage holder. Best to fit holder b4 fitting to bike as is very fiddly to do.

Fits my Specialized toupe saddle fine, not sure if that helps. The fixing is pretty simple just two plates that clamp together with a bolt so I would have thought any two rail saddle would be fine.

the saddle must have rear rails. I beam saddles and those with extended plastic moulding on the rear for the seat rails will not fit a TACX clamp

Will this fit a Selle SMP saddle?

The Selle SMP saddles have a different rail design to the standard saddle. Do you know if this bottle clamp fits, and if not, can you recommend any that do?

Unfortunately I can't guarantee that you will be able to fit a rail mounted bottle cage to this saddle, the saddle has a Logo mounted on the rear of the rails which will block the fitting of the cage mount.
