The Thomson X2 features a lighter, 2-bolt handlebar clamp. The interlocking handlebar clamp of the X2 makes is as torsionally strong as other 4-bolt designs, while being lighter and narrower. X2 has a low 36mm stack height.
X2 is available in 2 rise options; 10 and 17 degree. Both the 10 and 17 degree stem can be run with a positive or negative rise, and the reversible graphics will be right either direction. 10 degree stems work well for average riders/amateur racers, while those who want a very aggressive aero position or who want a very upright position can use the 17 degree stem to meet their fit needs.

Magazine reviews for Thomson Elite X2 Oversized Road Stem
Review from Bikeradar
Recently revamped to be sleeker and generally a little smaller all over than the previous version, the Elite X2 is machined from a length of extruded 7000 series aluminium alloy bar and is visually one of the most appealing stems around.
In our deflection test it makes the top five (we expected more considering the interlocking front cap design), and out on the road it behaved like a good stem should, which is what you'd expect considering the price tag.
The weight is quite good for a machined stem, and overall the Thomson X2 is a very nice bit of kit, albeit a little pricey. The stem angles are steeper than usual, with 10 or 17 degrees available.
Unusually for a very much road-styled stem, Thomson say it's robust enough for cross-country mountain bike riding too.
In conclusion...
A slightly pricey rolling style statement that works very well
Rating: 4/5
Review from Cycling Weekly
A one-piece design, material has been taken away in as many places as possible, resulting in a creditable 144g without losing any stiffness.
In conclusion...
THOMSON is known for producing lightweight yet strong stems and seatposts and the X2 is machined from a solid piece of 7000 series aluminium.
Rating: 7/10
Review from Cycling Plus
The X2 is an altogether more elegant looking stem than most other designs...and the conventional clamping arrangement is less likely to damage delicate 100% carbon fork steerer tubes...a superbly designed adaptor is included for those who would rather use a standard 26mm handlebar with the stem.
In conclusion...
Great finish and range of options
