About Tri Shoes
Triathlon racing cycling shoes are designed without compromise to provide the optimum power transfer between your foot and the pedal, a good quality triathlon shoe is a wise investment for performance and weight saving and is often overlooked. High-tech materials and precision manufacture keep weight down and stiffness up, this means your rotational mass is lower and power transfer is higher, resulting in more forward momentum for your effort. The main difference between a Tri shoe and a road shoe is the number of straps found on the uppers, Tri shoes tend to have one large strap for quick and easy removal during transitions, whereas a road shoe will have three or even four straps. For longer distance events such as half and full Ironmans a road shoe could be a wise choice though.

Magazine reviews for Time Ulteam Tri Carbon Road Cycling Shoes
Review from Triathlon Plus
Designed specifically with triathletes in mind, these new carbon soled shoes weigh just 600g the pair.
As you might expect from high-end tri bike shoes, they're light, well made, supremely stiff, very breathable and easy to whip on and off in a race. However, their unique selling point is their customisable inners, requiring the use of a hairdryer to soften them before wearing them for the first time. This enables the uppers to mould to your feet, giving extra comfort.
The resultant fit is better than that of a standard cycling shoe, but not as great as we'd hoped. Disappointingly it's only the uppers that mould to your feet, not the insoles. In an ideal world, both would offer a customisable fit. But aside from this minor gripe, they were some of the best triathlon cycling shoes we have ever worn.
In conclusion...
Moulded-to- fit carbon soled bike shoes. Not as great as hoped, but still comfortable
Rating: 4/5
