The pump is excellent and I have tried attaching it to the cross-bar using the cable ties; however it slips around a bit.
I use two water bottles so am after a bracket which I can use in conjunction with a bottle cage.

Unfortunately we do not stock a bracket that will work effectively with this bracket, I would suggest contacting Topeak to see if they stock a mount for this pump.

I have been told portable pumps tend to bend the valves on road bikes. Is there any truth to this?
Answers
Answer:
This pump comes with a little extendable hose, so you're very unlikely to bend the valve. It can be used with both Presta (the French style) and Schrader (the car style) valves by turning the little rubber piece inside the nozzle (one minute job, with no tools needed).

Answer:
If your talking about the Presta style valves I haven't had any problems and the flexible hose and floor standing nature of this pump means your less likely to put pressure on the valve.

Answer:
My last pump definitely tended to do this, but I believe it part to do with the manufacturing of the pump, and part to do with the speed with which you want to pump up your tube (if you're careful, you might avoid bending the valve stop).
That said, my last pump connected directly to the valve, and so the pumping action was directly transferred to the tube valve. The Topeak road pump has a flexible tube, and so there is some buffer between your pumping action and the valve. I would think this would alleviate almost all possibility of bending the tube valve.

Answer:
I assume you mean a Presta valve and yes it fits these valves fine. It is unlikely to bend the valve. That can happen with a pump which fits directly onto the valve but this pump has a rubber connecting tube and so it's very unlikely to bend the valve.

This pump is suitable for all valve types and as it is connected via a flexible hose the chances of bending the valve are minimal

Answer:
The pump is compatible with the two major valve types - schrader and presta, and features a flexible tube for you to connect to the valve when using the pump. THis means the pump doesn't rock the valve when inflating the tyre so there is no chance of bending the valve.

Well, yeah but the valve end of this pump is separate from the body so you're not putting any force onto the valve and/or wheel. The valve end fits easily over the valve and locks in with zero effort.

Yes they can. However, this pump has a flexible hose between the pump and the adaptor. This prevents any movement your pumping effort being directly transferred to the valve.

Answer:
I'm French and only know valves as Presta and schrader. The pump is foine for the road pike valve variety with the little screw bit on tip. The pumps don't bend the valve, we do. However, this is most common for pumps that have no hose to the valve. You just have to hold the pump tight to the valve when you pump to prevent damage. It does appear that the pump you are referring to does have a small hose so no worries there for you. It just depends how much pump/weight you want to carry. This one looks a bit large if you ask me. I personally go for the CO2 type with small poump stroke. But that's just me.

Yes it comes with a mounting bracket. The bracket fits onto a pair of bottle bosses which makes them unusable for a bottle. Alternatively the bracket can be attached by means of Velcro straps in which case under the top tube would probably be best place. I put mine in saddle bag or pannier.

It comes with a bracket that you can attach to the holes for a bottle holder with screws. It also comes with some cable ties so you can attach it to a different frame of the bike, but it could possible slide around.
It is possible to get a different bracket that allows the pump and a bottle cage to be attached to the same holes.
