More available carbohydrate
This drink's ingredient matrix has been brought in line with some of the most recent research into energy drink formulation. Maltodextrin and fructose are combined in a 2:1 ratio to provide significantly more carbohydrates than maltodextrin alone, helping you to sustain a higher pace for longer.
Torq uses a Maltodextrin:Fructose mix which allows your body to absorb 40% more carbohydrate than usual at up to 90 grams an hour!
THE TORQ FUELLING SYSTEM™ (2-3 TORQ UNITS PER HOUR)
Each of the following TORQ fuelling products represents 1 TORQ unit:
500ml Torq Energy (@6%), Carbs - 30g, Torq unit - 1
1 x Torq Gel (45g), carbs - 30g, Torq unit - 1
1 x Torq Bar (45g), carbs - 30g, Torq unit - 1
Research demonstrates that individuals can absorb up to 3 TORQ UNITS per hour whilst exercising, however we recommend that newcomers and smaller individuals start with 2 TORQ UNITS initially and experiment with higher doses over time. In warmer environmental conditions, or during higher intensity exercise when perspiration rates are high, we recommend that you lean towards a greater intake of TORQ Energy Drink units. During cooler conditions when hydration is less of an issue, more of your fuelling units should be delivered via TORQ Gels and Bars.
About Energy & Recovery Drink
Energy drinks are a beverage designed to help athletes rehydrate, as well as replenish electrolytes, carbohydrates, and other nutrients, which can be depleted during and after training or competition.
About the Torq brand
TORQ is a Fitness Consultancy. It always has been and always will be. Their roots are firmly entrenched in both Fitness Consultancy and Cycling and believe this provides them with their unique edge and integrity. Their range of performance nutrition products have been developed through a need to offer the highest standard of support to the athletes they work with. TORQ have uncompromising standards, yet also have a conscience. They absolutely refuse to use ingredients that are not derived from a NATURAL source, or don’t naturally occur within the human body and are firmly of the opinion that artificial ingredients like sweeteners offer no performance advantage, can cause stomach discomfort and could potentially harm your health long term. Advanced compounds like D-Ribose, HMB and L-Glutamine naturally occur within the human body and represent some of the most potent supplements available on the market today, so why would you want to use anything artificial? Every ingredient they use is included to the levels recommended by available research. TORQ do not cut corners and do not accept compromise.

Magazine reviews for Torq Energy Drink Powder - 1.5kg
Review from 220 Triathlon
The latest release from the midlands fitness and nutrition collective Torq is the natural Vanilla pod energy drink. It's a complex carbohydrate fuel with a 6% carbohydrate mix of maltodextrin (glucose polymers) and fructose (2:1 ratio), along with a healthy balance of essential electrolyte minerals. Many independent studies have shown that the 2:1 ratio of maltodextrin and fructose makes more carbohydrate readily available for the muscles, as opposed to using maltodextrin or fructose on its own. Servings that make up 500ml, 750mm and 1ltr of drink provide 30,45 or 60g of carbohydrate, making it ultra easy to adjust to your type of workout or race. The Vanilla flavour is a mild and refreshing taste, so it's an ideal choice if you're looking for a well formulated energy drink and especially if you're looking for one that lacks colouring, artificial sweeteners or flavourings. On that note alone, this energy drink certainly gets our vote.
No nasties, refreshing and a good combination of electrolytes.
Review from Cycling Plus
Torq combines both carbohydrate and electrolytes to a offer pleasantly flavoured easy-to-mix drink. This natural mix contains no artificial sweeteners, colours or preservatives and is suitable for vegans as it doesn't contain dairy. There's no wheat or nuts for that matter so its perfect for those with allergies too. For a 500ml bottle you'll need two scoops of powder for a six percent carb' mix. Once mixed, and despite the strong smell, the pink grapefruit flavour was palatable even in the heat.
Light tasting, natural drink that's easy to get down
Product Q & A
Ask your questions and share your answers.
Alternatively they rationalise it down to 3 Torq units per hour. 1 Torq unit equates to 1 Torq gel or 500ml energy drink equates to 1 Torq unit.
Hope this helps but it's worth looking at their website http://www.torqfitness.co.uk
If you are doing a high intensity workout then you should be using this as a supplement to your usual workout diet.
Hope this helps
Then continue throughout the 2hr workout.
If this is low content could you give a suitable alternative? Thanks.

that's what it says on the tub
100g of the poweder contain 91g carbs; 1l drink contains 6% carbs. that's what i used to calculate that you get 22,75 litres out of 1,5kg powder
If you use the suggested 4 x 25g scoops per litre, you will get 15 bottles.
It should not be fizzy when you mix it, except for a few seconds if you shake air into your mix.
About 4 scoops to a litre, so it'll last a fair while.
You're meant to do four scoops per litre to reach a six per cent concentration - ideal for full-on riding/excercise.
Four scoops, according to Torq is 65g. So a tub would be 23 litres. I reckon on a recent South Downs Way epic I got more than that out of a tub - maybe 50 per cent more (30-35 litres).
The 6 per cent solution delivers 60g of carbs per litre, and you're meant to drink a litre per hour in heavy excercise. And then top up to your kg body weight in g (ie I weigh 80kg, therefore I needed to top up 20g of carbs from bars and gels on top of the 60 I was getting from the drink).
so 1 bar, 1 drink (500ml), 1 Gel = 30 grams carbs
