When a flat occurs the sealant seals the puncture, most often with very little air loss, so the rider does not even detect getting a flat. It increases safety considerably, since catastrophic loss of air does not occur and, consequently, rider stability is not diminished.

About Road Race Tubular Tyres

These tubular tyres are designed for tubular rims, these are glued on using tubular cement or tubular tape. They are the preferred choice for serious riders and professionals when all that matters is performance. A tubular is a sealed unit with an inner tube sewn into the tyres casing, this means the tubular is perfectly round in profile and offers a better feel when cornering. Vittoria have introduced open tubulars which are the same design as their tubular tyres but with a bead for use on a clincher rim, these will offer the closest feel of a tubular but the ease of repair associated with a clincher. Sizing is subtly different to clincher wheels and can be a bit confusing as most manufacturers still quote the old imperial sizes. However there are only 2 real sizes: 26" is the same as 650c, then 27", 28" and 700c are all the same size. Works on Conti Tubs !! Bought this to try in my Continental Competition Tubular Rear which had a pin hole in it. I would get about 4hrs inflation out of the tyre........this works like a treat.......instantly sealed the hole & the tyre has stayed inflated ! This has saved me having to replace my race tyre.....don't know if it would work as well with a bigger puncture, but it definitely works with smaller ones !! Highly recommended if you have a small repair on any tubular !! It's SOOO easy to use too ! The nozzle fits perfectly inside the valve stem ( once you remove the valve ).........you just squeeze about a third of the bottle in, replace the valve & spin the wheel to distribute evenly then pump the tyre up ! Couldn't be simpler ! Very happy :o) 03 June 2011

Does just what is supposed to Had a puncture with about 4mm tear in the tub. Followed the instructions on the tube and was able to re-inflate with no problem. 21 October 2012

Saved a tub i was about to throw away I've been racing on tubs (Tufo S3 Lites) for two years, but never had a puncture until now. Still a complete novice to using tubs, and thought i would have to replace the tub, as repairs don't seem cost-effective for tubs of this price. Stumbled across this product right here on Wiggle, and followed the guide of pouring a third of the bottle into the tub, giving it a spin and then inflating. RIght up to 130psi without a hint of leaking. The puncture hold was only about a mill big, so can't comment on how this would hold up to bigger cuts, but impressive all the same 05 August 2012

It worked Good product. Use the supplied valve remover put the goo in but first time most came back out again. Note to new users go slowly don't try and shove it in. Eventually got it in. Spun the wheel put 150 psi in and it has held ever since. Good stuff it had a 2mm glass cut that was leaking quickly sealed it no probs. 09 July 2012

Will this work with Deep section rims?

I have 50mm rims and use valve extenders. I assume it will be difficult to inject the sealant??

Answer:

I have wide carbon rims and valve too and I did not find it particularly difficult to inject, although was some blow back but I think that happens even with normal rims. I am not sure why.

I have used this a number of times on deep section rims with an extender with no problems.

Key to its use any time is to make sure it is well shaken. Also make sure that you push in strong steady. This allows the flow to work its way through a small opening.

Answer:

I've just used it on a tub mounted to a 50mm rim, with valve extenders. You can't pour this straight into the extender, but still an easy job. You need to remove the extender, then take the tub off the rim, and then remove the valve head and pour in the sealant with the tub off the rim. Once in, just remount, and then spin the wheel to get the sealant evenly around the inside of the tub. Works fine this way (and going to get proper valve extenders that replace the original valve rather than mounting over the top of them so that i can use this if i get a puncture on the road)

i have used it on my 50mm dura ace wheels, but it only holds the pressure up to around 80psi depending on the hole size.
i found it was not worth the hastle and changed to running gator skins. They puncture less.
