About Road Race Tubular Tyres
These tubular tyres are designed for tubular rims, these are glued on using tubular cement or tubular tape. They are the preferred choice for serious riders and professionals when all that matters is performance. A tubular is a sealed unit with an inner tube sewn into the tyres casing, this means the tubular is perfectly round in profile and offers a better feel when cornering. Vittoria have introduced open tubulars which are the same design as their tubular tyres but with a bead for use on a clincher rim, these will offer the closest feel of a tubular but the ease of repair associated with a clincher. Sizing is subtly different to clincher wheels and can be a bit confusing as most manufacturers still quote the old imperial sizes. However there are only 2 real sizes: 26" is the same as 650c, then 27", 28" and 700c are all the same size. We spotted this useful article on Bike Radar which explains briefly the benefits and how to fit tubular tyres.

Magazine reviews for Vittoria Corsa Evo CX Tubular Tyre
Review from Road Cycling UK
Long established as one of the finest lightweight clincher road tyres around, Vittoria's Open Corsa CX got a significant upgrade at the end of 2008 with the introduction of a new, even higher thread count for the Italian company's proven Corespun casing technology.
By bumping the thread count from 290tpi up to a heady 320tpi, Vittoria have made the carcass lighter, thinner and more supple, which should mean it is faster and more comfortable.
The Kevlar SiO2 3D tread compound and PRB anti-puncture remain as was, ensuring the new tyre should retain its predecessor's fine reputation for cut resistance and speed. Colour options are all-black, red/black, blue/black, yellow/black and white/black in the 23c size, with 20c and 25c versions available in all-black.
Weight for the 700x23c tyres is a claimed 210g, maximum inflation pressure is 145psi and, er, the tread pattern is a traditional file/herringbone job.
First time out for these beauties was installed in my Scott lo-pro for a 14.5 mile hilly time trial, followed by an evening 10. Modesty forbids … of course, but let's say that here is a tyre that really delivers on anything short of a drag strip surface. Rougher Surrey Tarmac is simply eaten up, while on the kind of 'laggy' surface found on the county's dual carriageways it feels so comfortable you find yourself checking pressure after the warm up.
In conclusion...
Even better than its illustrious predecessor

Review from Cycling Weekly
The latest Corsa EVO CX boasts a high-density casing of 320 tpi and features the new PRB 2.0 puncture belt, so it had to be an improvement on its predecessor, which we found punctured far too easily. The new design has stayed inflated and proven to be excellent. Still retaining the plush ride quality, this tub feels great on the road, with plenty of cornering grip in the wet or dry, using the same tread pattern and compound as before. It has a very reassuring ride on its edge; even the 21mm version that I have been using for criteriums. An anodised aluminium removable valve is also a nice touch and helps keep weight low. This tub weighs just 245g.
In conclusion...
The Corsa EVO CX has exceeded my expectations, is on my race wheels this year and I thoroughly recommend it.
