Top Features of the Vittoria Road Inner Tube
The Vittoria road inner tube is a must have cycling essential for 700c bike wheels. Medium weight road inner tube with 2 valve length choices, 42mm or 51mm for deeper section rims.
- Weight: 42mm Presta Valve Inner tube - 80g
- Weight: 51mm Presta Valve Inner tube - 90g
- Use: All purpose inner tube and excellent replacement inner tube for your road bike
- Material: Butyl tubes with renowned Vittoria quality
- Durability: Each and every inner tube passes a stringent 100% quality control inspection
- Road
- Weight (g): 80
- Materials: Butyl
- Use: All purpose
Shorter valve inner tubes are ideal for wheels with rim depths of 24mm or 30mm but are not ideal for wheels with rim depths of 40mm or above (as the shorter valve would not extend out of the rim valve hole).
Presta valve tubes are most commonly used for road wheels (700c) and on a few MTB wheels as the valves are thin, whereas Schrader valves are more commanly found on MTB wheels as valve is larger and won't fit through 700c rim valve holes.

23-622 (700 x 23C) C-1839-2
I guess the latter bit is a part number but what with the 700 x 23C?
Is 23C the circumference of the type if it was a complete circle at a cross section?
I need to buy some new inner tubes and notice I have bought 700 x 23C and 700 x 25C in the past as I keep them for repairs. Does this matter too much, the 23C and 25C part? You say on the website that it is very important to get the size right for the tyre. Appreciate your help with this one. I have been riding a road bike for 6 years, take it apart and put back together so not too daft but not sure on this. Thanks Cel

You could use a wider tire (eg. a 25mm tire is 700x 25C) or a narrower tire (eg. 700 x 20C) on your wheels but not one with a different diameter such as 650 or 27".
Many tubes can be used for different width tires and they will be designated as such. For instance, the Vittoria's are for
700 x 19-23C tires. Check what your 25C tube says and whether it is compatible with a 23mm tire. I would think it would be.
700C is a french size and equivalent to the ISO (E.T.R.T.O.) size 622. Yoo will find them on your e.g. 28" road bike. 23 or 25 refer to the width. Make sure to choose the appropriate width for your rim. Please the Sheldon's website for safe combinations.
You may find that some inner tubes will have a band in which they will fit so for instance it may read 700x19-23 in which case the inner tube should fit your 23 mm tyre.

The 42's do not have a removable core but the 51's do.
If the core is removable it will show it in a little exploded drawing on the box.
I'm also after inner tubes that have removable valve cores. Vredestein also make tubes with removable cores.

No problem in my case.
