TriComp Technology: The specific tread and side wall compound guarantee the best grip and lowest rolling resistance in all weather conditions. The tread compound is highly wear-resistant and smooth running, while the softer compound across the tyre shoulder ensures optimal grip in dry conditions.
Curve Control System: The curvature of a tyre determines its steering behaviour, which is particularly important in corners. The Curve Control System ensures that the tyre keeps its curved shape longer. Combined with the unique characteristics of the TriComp technology, this allows corners to be taken at higher speed, even in wet weather.
TPI Explained: The casing of a tyre is constructed from a bead of steel wire or armid threads and a fabric with rubber on both sides. The thread density of the fabric determines the quality of the tyre. This density is expressed in TPI )Threads Per Inch). A higher TPI means lower weight, greater comfort and flexibility, and lower rolling resistance. Vredestein has tyres available with a TPI between 24 and 290.

About Road Race Tubular Tyres
These tubular tyres are designed for tubular rims, these are glued on using tubular cement or tubular tape. They are the preferred choice for serious riders and professionals when all that matters is performance. A tubular is a sealed unit with an inner tube sewn into the tyres casing, this means the tubular is perfectly round in profile and offers a better feel when cornering. Vittoria have introduced open tubulars which are the same design as their tubular tyres but with a bead for use on a clincher rim, these will offer the closest feel of a tubular but the ease of repair associated with a clincher. Sizing is subtly different to clincher wheels and can be a bit confusing as most manufacturers still quote the old imperial sizes. However there are only 2 real sizes: 26" is the same as 650c, then 27", 28" and 700c are all the same size. We spotted this useful article on Bike Radar which explains briefly the benefits and how to fit tubular tyres.
About the Vredestein brand
Vredestein is best known for the S’Licks MTB and the Fortezza road tyres though there is a wide range of supporting models. The PRS puncture resistant system has proved an enduring feature, whilst reflective strips on many tyres have proven acceptance over many years. The latest Max Puncture Protection tyres offer almost bomb-proof strength. Well known for road and cyclo-cross successes in competitive cycling, the Vredestein Curve Control system for optimum cornering and the Tri-Comp technology for very low rolling resistence is race proven.
