The cleats are compatible with all shoes with recessed soles that are intended for touring and MTB use and the mechanism is similar to that of the first generation of Shimano SPD...fine for road and light recreational off-road use...these are the most reasonably priced double sided pedals available.

early days yet Not long since started to use these but so far so good and don't anticipate any probs. Easy to install and use and good value, will be to bulky weight wise for the true weight conscious riders tho. 15 August 2012

Does what it says on the tin. Never used clipless pedals before so went for these based on price and previous reviews. Easy to fit and adjust. So far I havnt fallen off so all good. Seem sturdy and look like they will last. 14 August 2012

Wellgo SPD Pedals good pedals, take some time to set up turn screw no more than 1/4 - 1/2 a turn at a time smaller the better. just dont forget to twist out at the end of a road if you have to stop. (or u will fall over) allmost done it 3 times first week. did do it 1 time on second week and did end up with bike on floor. all in all good pedal set that comes with cleats. for the price some sets of cleats cost on there own. 14 October 2011

Will these pedals fit a road bike

Hi there, I am a mtn biker... slowly converting to rd bike. I have mtn biking shoes, and SPD pedals on my mtn bike. I have been given a Bianchi rd bike, and I need to get some pedals to be able to ride it. If I order these pedals will they fit and can I ride it with my mtn bike shoes?

Yes these pedals are universal fit. They will work on a road bike as that is what I have on mine as the SPD SL's a difficult to walk in.

The fitting of pedals to cranks is the same for MTB and road bikes. So yes they will fit. In my opinion, if you want to be able to walk any distance greater than about 10m then pedals like this and shoes with inset cleats are what you need. Road purists will tell you that without 3 bolt attachments and very stiff shoes you won't get the best out of a road bike. Strictly speaking probably true but I for one am happy with my Shimano PD-M520 pedals (very similar to these) on my road bike - and I can walk after getting off the bike!!

Most pedals have a similar axle length, you may require a pedal which has a longer axle or a replacable axle so you can move the pedal away from the crank arm. Unfortunately we do not stock a pedal at this price range with adjustable or extended axle length.
