This system will adapt any 24mm NON TAPERED spindle crank. The Shims are based on industry standard BB30 bottom bracket shells and are easy to install and machined for exact fit. You will need the 6806 bearings already installed into the BB30 shell to start this conversion.
About Bottom Brackets
Bicycle bottom brackets connect the cranks to the bike and allow the crank arms to rotate. There are various sizes of bottom bracket shell on the market, so compatibility needs to be checked. The three most common frame bottom bracket shell widths are 68mm (English threaded road and mtb), 70mm (Italian threaded road) and 73mm (British threaded mtb). There are also many axle shapes and styles, from JIS or ISO square tapers through to the round splined axles such as ISIS or Octalink and then there is the new external cup systems which have the axle built into the crank arms. Some frames are now using the new BB30 system which uses bearings pushed directly into the frame and removes the needs for cups to be threaded into the frame.
About the Wheels Manufacturing brand
Wheels Manufacturing was started in 1988 in Boulder, Colorado. What started in a small machine shop producing cog removal tools and chainring spacers quickly blossomed into a large scale manufacturing facility producing a full line of small parts totaling over 800 products. We are currently located in Broomfield, Colorado, which is about 10 miles from our original location.
At Wheels Manufacturing we strive to meet the demands of todays cyclists and service centers. We have real cyclists working in our facility, willing and able to tackle any technical question.
Wheels Manufacturing has an extensive list of equipment in our machine shop. We have CNC mills, CNC lathes and a large array of manual machines and equipment. We have a separate parts deburring and polishing room that makes all of our products look their best after final finishing.
We are proud to say that our products are made of the highest quality materials to exact tolerances, and all parts must pass our rigorous quality control screening process.
