This model will empower the new mountain biker. Stable, strong and dependable, the Series 7 provides a respectably light and smooth ride thanks to triple-butted aluminium tubing and front suspension.
This 709 XC, with double water bottle bosses, triple chainset, and Tektro's disc hydraulic brakes (DHC300), provides all the qualities you want from a MTB. Strength and agility are matched by the wealth of quality components such as Shimano and Suntour, to provide a bike that will constantly get you through your course or over the lumpiest route with your mates.
A good mix of Shimano components deliver the excellent drivetrain and transmission features. Good reliable performance is found here with great shifting delivered and thanks to the triple chainset and the 9 speed cassette, gearing is plentiful - meaning virtually any hill is possible, at a slow speed of course, but speed not forgotten about.
WARP products finish the bike off with their seat post, stem, bars and saddle. Thanks to the triple chainset and the 10 speed cassette, gearing is plentiful - meaning virtually any hill is possible, at a slow speed of course, but speed not forgotten about.
The wheels are also thanks to WARP and uses their XC500 rims built on Shimano hubs and have CST 2.1 wrapped around them. This provides a great combination to allow you the carve you way through the muddiest of tracks and to get you over the lumpiest of terrain with ease. Strong Tektro disc brakes also aid you in your control when braking is required. Finally, Suntour provides the damping you need thanks to their SR XCM forks allowing you to soak it up with the ample travel available.
We can't say much more really about this machine, except a great hardtail at a great price. Each Wilier 709 XC is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure you're bike arrives in perfect condition.
If you are looking for a mountain bike that can comfortably negotiate bumpy, cross-country, singletracks yet still be quick and nimble on the road, then a hardtail bike is for you. Hard tail mountain bikes have front suspension, weigh less and are more pedal efficient when the terrain is smooth, than full suss bikes. A good number of single track racers still use hardtails for these reasons. At wiggle, we stock a wide variety of hardtail mountain bike brands including Felt, Focus, GT, Kona, Mongoose, Saracen and more. So if you are searching for superb, quality spec hardtail mountain bikes at great value with a legendary service to match, then you've come to the right place.
Wilier was born in 1906 thanks to the brilliant idea of a trader from Bassano, Pietro Dal Molin, of building bicycles on his own account. His forge or "Steel horses" rose as a small workshop along the banks of the river Brenta, at Bassano del Grappa, and it became more and more successful by keeping up with the increasing demand for bicycles.
The size chart below will get you on the right size bike. Experienced riders may also wish to refer to the geometry chart for more detail.
Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
