Wilier Zero.7 Record 11 2013

The Zero.7 is the lightest bike Wilier Triestina has ever produced, and it was created with one goal in mind: to set a new standard for the most sophisticated race bikes. Zero.7 takes full advantage of BB386EVO, a new integrated bottom bracket designed by Wilier in collaboration with FSA. The box containing the bottom bracket is wider and has a larger diameter than the traditional standards. The result is increased stiffness while enabling weight savings, which equates to better power transfer and efficiency.

The introduction of Wilier's Zero.7 also marks the first implementation of an exclusive Wilier technology: S.E.I. (Special Elastic Infiltrated) Film. The injection of a proprietary viscoelastic film between the layers of carbon fibre increases vibration absorption and impact resistance, making the frame stronger and safer, and its ride more comfortable. S.E.I. has also enabled Wilier to shave weight, as the presence of this film reduces the need for intermediate modulus carbon.

The Zero.7’s tapered steerer tube (from 1 1/8” to 1 1/4”) further enhances front end stability, providing the perfect balance of lateral stiffness, comfort and precision handling. The combination of all these features makes for one thing: speed.

Beautifully decked out with Campagnolo's 11 speed Record groupset, the Zero.7 features a wealth of innovations making this a desirable bike to own. The performance of the groupset is top-notch. Superb shifting, outstanding performance and effortless braking modulation, coupled with the frame technology makes for an unbelievable bike to ride. The compact chainset featured is from FSA and in the form of their K-Force Light model, designed for the BB386EVO. This high quality mixture ensures that superb performance is delivered with every ride. Being 11 speed means you have 22 gears to choose from throughout your ride and with the 50/34 chainset fitted means top end speed can be achieved as well as providing great/better climbing gears for when the road goes up.

Fulcrum provides the wheels in the form of their Racing Zero's (dark label). These are encased with Michelin Pro Race 3 tyres and coupled together give outstanding grip, straight line speed and total reliability.

Finally the finishing kit, which consists of the handlebar, stem, seat post, are all thanks to FSA and Ritchey (seat post). Wilier teamed up with FSA to have a custom finish to these products and colour matches the frame design beautifully. A Selle Italia/Wilier saddles tops off the bike to complete the package.
