Zefal Paragon Mudguard Stay Set I found the set easy to instal (less than half an hour), and easy nto adjust to the correct length to avoid fouling the wheels by the mudguards. 17 May 2012

Are these quick release safety stays?

Are these stays quick release in the event of for example a stick getting caught under the stays?

Answer:

I've just received a set of these - the black plastic bits at the end of the stays for the front guard (as visible in the photo) are a safety release system (Zefal give them the rather grandiose title of "Concept anti-blocking system").

From the Zefal website: "The mono clip connecting the front stays on the fork is complying with EN 14764 standard. In case an object gets into the spokes of the front wheel, the stays will be automatically released and will not block the wheel. "
