Answer:
you dont really. if you have a childish head get the junior, otherwise you'll probably be ok with the adult size. unfortunately its one of those things you'll just have to bite the bullet with. i bought adult size and them are ok , and my head isnt particulary big if you know what i mean.

Answer:
Don't expect them to block your ears completely when you insert them, like some other brands. Pop them in gently and swivel them around slowly until the feel like they're "in" and working. I find that once i start swimming, they almost create a slight suction or vacuum effect which keeps the water out. I have the jnr ones so if yours don't feel like they're in, they may be too big or too small - depending on which you have. Hope that helps

I just roll them into my ear, but saying that, I think they are a little bit bulky / big. Might try the kids size for a better fit, but could be handy if there was medium size available.

I can't fit the adult size in my ears, that's why I got the Junior (kids) size. Fits beatutifully now.
Try twisting the ear plugs in gently whilst looking in the mirror to make sure it fits your outer ear correctly

Answer:
I twist them slightly as they go in which seems to help create the seal. I also found the adult ones too big for my ears, the child ones create a much better seal for me.

Answer:
You have to have play the 'twist and turn' game quite a bit I've found with ear plugs. If they still don't feel secure, I'd recommend buying another brand, usually a less known one, then see how you go. I did that and just found the cheaper, less known brand, actually gave me a more secure fit. Smaller the plug = better the fit.

Answer:
With ear plugs it can be better to twist them into place, this allows the seal to return to position instead of being folded back if you simply push them in straight.

Answer:
Yes. A conversation between swimmers at the lane ends is a bit muffled, but quite ok. Normally a shout from the life guard can be heard when they are shutting down a lane.
Compared with an ear full of water, I think would be just as muffled.
