The Aspire suit has been the best selling Zone3 wetsuit since its famous 10/10 review in 220 Triathlon Magazine. No other wetsuit has ever achieved a full marks review which makes this a great choice for any swimmer or triathlete.
Top Features of the Zone3 Aspire Wetsuit
- Premium SCS Yamamoto fabrics designed to ensure superb all-over body flexibility, comfort and performance.
- Aqua dynamic Nano coating applied to the neoprene meaning that there is almost no drag through the water.
- Extensive research and development on panel design and fabric thickness ensures this is one of the most natural feeling wetsuits you’ll swim in.
- Spring loaded shoulder design to generate a faster swim stroke, ensure maximum reach and to conserve energy.
- Maximum 5mm neoprene allowed under ITU regulations from the chest down to the knees, giving plenty of buoyancy and core support to ensure the perfect swimming angle.
- Pro Speed CuffsTM on the arms and the legs for rapid removal after the swim to ensure the quickest transitions, saving you vital time on any course.
- 3D forearm catch panels to increase surface area on the arm pull through the water with each stroke. More propulsion means more speed.
- Downwards YKK zip to enable the suit to go on and off easily.
- Combining our recognized red cuffs with graphite back and arm panels gives the Aspire a distinguished style which looks as good on the rail as it does when being worn.
In 2013 the Aspire also achieved a higher score rating than any other wetsuit tested throughout the year. The Aspire is constantly given praise for its extreme flexibility around the shoulders, perfectly balanced buoyancy and lightning quick transitions.
The Zone3 Aspire is one of the highest rated wetsuits within the industry and among the public. As the reviews say: “….this makes swimming in the Aspire every bit as comfortable and energy efficient as swimming in suits costing twice as much.”
Whereas a lot of other brands seem to be increasing their prices, we're pleased to say that the Aspire will be kept the same in 2014 which really makes it a great option for any level of swimmer, from novice to elite. We urge you to talk to anybody who has swum in the Aspire to help explain what makes this product stand out from the rest.
Fitting your wetsuit is of great importance and should be done with care and attention. Please refer to our Guide – How to put on a wetsuit – for further information or watch the brands video guide, if available, on the video tab above.
Modern triathlon wetsuits were invented by Dan Empfield in 1987 and are customized to the needs of triathletes, they generally incorporate the following key features which differentiates them from a normal wetsuit. 1, Thinner and/or more pliable rubber near the shoulders. 2, Long zippers to facilitate quick removal during transition. In addition, tri wetsuits have a very smooth, but often fragile, surface. This slick surface helps to reduce water friction and allows a faster swim. Another advantage of a tri wetsuit is the added buoyancy that the wetsuit provides, this can provide triathletes with a considerable speed and energy saving advantage over swimming without a suit.

Magazine reviews for Zone3 Aspire Wetsuit
Review from Triathlon Plus
Zone 3's mid-level suit offers stunning performance at a very good price. The fit is slim with tight wrists that keep water out and a low, unobtrusive neckline. The ends of the legs, which are made of stretchier neoprene for a fast exit, didn't seem to make as snug a seal, though speed seemed unaffected by this. Shoulder flexibility is astonishing at this price point with no noticeable restriction. Buoyancy is impressive, with 5mm neoprene to the knees raising the legs and supporting the core without getting in the way of swimming naturally. The catch panels had no discernable 'feel' against the water, but didn't hurt pulling the suit off quickly. A close second to the HUUB in speed, flexibility and comfort, at just over half the price.
If you want a high-end performing suit at a low-end price, there's none better. Performance 4/5 Value 5/5
Review from Triathlete Europe
More often than not you get what you pay for when it comes to wetsuits. While cheaper suits are great for getting started the flexibility of a top end suit is noticeably better. Here the Aspire breaks the mould and instantly feels like wetsuit that should cost more than its £265 price tag because it feels so flexible to climb into. It's made from premium SCS Yamamoto neoprene and the main body through to the knees uses 5mm rubber for buoyancy and body position in the water. Around the shoulders and upper arms Zone 3 have used 2mm rubber to provide one of the most flexible suits we've used in this price bracket. This allows for a more efficient stroke and helps to reduce overall fatigue, especially over long distances. The forearms feature a catch panel to help grip the water through the pull stage of the stroke cycle. The cuffs have a coating to help with a quicker removal and along with the pull down zip make it a fast to get out of.
The quality, flexibility and position in the water along with the ease of removal make this one of the best value wetsuits on the market and will work for most swimmers.
Review from 220 Triathlon
Brit brand Zone3 has swiftly carved itself a reputation for producing high-quality wetsuits. And the latest incarnation of their middle-range Aspire further cements that reputation. New additions include the introduction of 100% Yamamoto fabric, which is evident in the superb buoyancy and flexibility via the well-designed panel shapes and neoprene thickness. Another new feature is Zone3's Pro Speed Cuffs on the legs and arms, which ensured we easily removed the suit faster than we could say Aspire! Aesthetically, the suit is an improvement on the original (it even references 220's 10/10 review back in 2010 with a 10 on the back). The suit features a comfortable neck line: 5mm neoprene from the neck to the knees, allowing for optimum positioning in the water; and forearm catch panels that allow for a better grip when catching on the water. It's all geared up for a super-fast wetsuit at a penny-saving price.
