Jetting off for some much needed cycling sunshine over winter? The B & W Bike Box is a rugged, wheeled hard case for safely transporting your bike on your flights as you head out to sunnier climes to get some warm base miles in.

Description

The B&W bike box features a tough ABS shell, wheel bags and an aluminium frame for robust protection wherever you travel. The bike box is made from strike-proof ABS moulded around an aluminium frame. The internal walls have thick foam padding and 4 quick release straps to hold you bike frame and wheels in place. The shell is double thickness around the 4 wheels on the bottom corners for added strength. The wheels are free running with reinforced axles. There are 4 locks which are flush fitting as well as a fixed velcro strap for added security and 3 strengthened hinges. There is a carry handle on the top and a spring loaded pilot handle on the side, which make the case very easy to move around. Should you need to, the wheels are easily replaceable, this is an added feature of the B&W bike cases. They can just be un-screwed and replaced, a lot of other cases are fully moulded, and if the wheels are damaged, the case needs replacing. The bike box suits all frame sizes, although beyond 24" you'll probably need to remove the seat post. (Not suitable for full suspension bikes - use a bike case instead.)

Customer Reviews

B & W Bike Box is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 170.
Rated 3 out of 5 by CycleCoachLondon from Bike box The box works but it has a significant disadvantage over air-filled bags, which are packable so take up far less space when not in use. The wheels on mine don't roll straight. But otherwise, it does it's job and is more robust than some soft bags. My XL road bike fit in.

Q & A

Does the B&W Bike box fit the boot of a Ford Focus hatchback (without the rear seats folded)

I am traveling to the airport and can't flatten the rear seats due to the kids going there. Will it fit in the boot of a Ford Focus?
Asked by: gabriel959
I have checked the dimensions of the box and the boot of a Ford Focus and I can confirm it will not fit. I apologise we cannot be of help in this case.

Will this box take a 54cm road bike with an integrated seat post?

Asked by: Allthegearnoidea
I have a 2009 Scott Addict R3 (54) with integrated seatpost and the bike fits in easily. It is necessary to remove the seatpost cap and saddle. Worth noting the seatpost is cut to fit to my 5'9 height and i have a compact chainset. There is however about 5-6 cm space between the top of the seat post and the top of the Bikebox. If you have a longer seatpost or a standard chainset you could always remove the chainset to fit the bike in.

60 cm frame

Will this case take a 60 cm frame without an integrated seat post (ie seat will be removed)? I have read responses which says it will, and some that say it won't.
Asked by: Darch
I can confirm that depending on the geometry of the frame you will be able to fit a 60cm frame in this box with the seat post and wheels removed and the bars moved. I hope this helps.
