The C17 is made from vulcanized natural rubber and organic cotton canvas featuring a new construction that works like a hammock and delivers immediate comfort while absorbing vibration and shock. Superb for long distance riding.
Brooks England Brooks England Cambium C17 Saddle
A justified purchase !!
Having just done the London Revolution 2 day event - 190 miles sitting on this saddle - can only recommend it as my backside thoroughly enjoyed it !!!
On a serious note, easy to fit and then forget about - it's that good !!

Really good saddle
Upgraded to the Cambium C17 from a Specialised Evo Comp split saddle. For me , weighing 90 kgs and 188 cm height , this saddle fitted very well and what is immediately noticeable is that it absorbs most of the road bumps. It is also very classy to look at and easy to install. Highly recommend this saddle.

Comfortable and looks awesome
So, besides the fact a saddle is a completely personal purchase and you can't guarantee it'll be the right saddle for you, I cannot recommend the Cambium C17 enough.
I've been a huge fan of Brooks England for many years and had a few leather saddles in my time - still got a lovely B66 on my SS Commuter - so was excited to get my hands on the Cambium for my CX bike after hearing lots of people say you get the comfort of a leather saddle without needing to break it in. They weren't wrong.
As spotted in another review, there was some creaking/squeaking coming from the saddle on the first ride, but after a few hundred miles on it, this stopped and now is silent - obviously just takes a tiny bit of bedding in.
In terms of looks, the Cambium does it for me. I really don't like most modern saddles in terms of design, and also haven't found a modern saddle as comfortable as the Cambium, despite spending a fair bit on Prologo/Fizik etc.
One thing to note, if like me you are putting it on a CX bike, I'd advise against the lighter coloured saddle - one ride in and the slate one I've got is filthy! I'm holding off on buying bar tape as I expect the saddle to get slightly darker with each ride!
All in all, awesome saddle - 100% recommend you trying one!

Stylish and comfortable
It began badly with much creaking and squeaking. Just as I was about to return it after approx 300 km the noises stopped and have not returned.
It is undoubtedly stylish and getting more comfortable by the day. It promises to be a very good saddle, but the creaking still haunts me and I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't return.

I have used the Brooks Cambium C17 Saddle for over a year now and find it to be very comfy on long rides.
It appears to be hard wearing so I’m expecting to use it for many years to come.

Afraid I did not get on with it.
Lack of any padding at all.
Lightweight and looks nice but does not work for me.

Simply the most comfortable saddle from out of the box I've ever sat on. I'm a 10,000km a year rider and this makes it all like silk.

Third time lucky?
My first C17 went back because the canvas was fraying along the back edge. But I loved the fit and feel so took a replacement.
All was great for a few months, and then one of the four studs dropped off during a ride (and was lost).
Hmm. Still, I've just taken delivery of a third C17 because I really do like it, so we'll see if the build quality is up to scratch this time around.
On the upside, full marks to Wiggle for excellent customer service.

I forgot it was there
After installing the new saddle I took it out for a test ride, and only after about 70k did I realise that I had totally forgotten I was sitting on it. No rubbing and very comfortable support.

Very comfortable from the start
I was finding the existing saddle on my Canondale Synapse uncomfortable and already having a B17 on my touring bike I gave this a go. I'm pleased to say that Brooks have triumphed again!

Looks well, feels comfortable and is maintenance free. After trying many saddles I eventually found that the B17 was the most comfortable saddle for me, but I did not like the look of it on my race bike. Took a chance on the C17 and and glad I did. Great saddle.

The first saddle I have found comfortable
The original saddle that came with bike was ok for up to 40 miles. It would then start to hurt. After trials of three alternatives, I ordered the Brooks C17 and discovered a world of difference. I still get some discomfort - but only after 80+ miles.

Brooks - But Not As You Know It
I've been reserving judgement until I'd done at least one long ride. That's been completed, and I can safely say that I like this saddle.
It has that Brooks "feel", and it looks brilliant but it might not be what you expect if you already own a Brooks.
I have a B17 Standard that I really like. Based on that, I got the C17 to go on another bike. I'm not sure what I expected, but when I tried it for the first time, I got a bit of a surprise. It is very firm, with not much "give". I thought it would have some, given it is made of rubber. Not so. Also, the canvas top doesn't "stick" which was nice.
How does it compare to the B17? Well, it is certainly comfortable after not many miles. Todays long run was 65miles and I had not butt comfort issues at all. It was just as comfortable as the B17, but in a different, #firmer# way.
Would I recommend it? Definitely - just don't think its a direct replacement or comparison for a leather Brooks. It's different, but in a good way. Will I keep it? Definitely - it's comfortable and it looks great on my carbon bike.

Easy to maintain
I have the leather equivalent to the C17 and love both saddles I cannot say which is better other than C17 is easier to look after

Nice and comfy
really nice saddle (the aluminium piece is just plain sexy and the whole thing mixes retro and modern minimalistic styles. 10/10 for design. But the best is comfort ... it fells like a cinema seat: the top is surprisingly stiff but feel super supple once seated.
I think brooks have been daft to not stick titanium rails on this product (could even offer a luxury edition with all hard parts made of titanium ... ).
Downside is weight (400+ grams) and I honestly think the canvas cover wont last, or at least it wont look good for very long as it is already frayed on the sides even with very little use so far.
NOTE: For those who hesitate between the C15 (140 mm wide) and C17 (160mm wide), I tried both the and the C15 was too narrow and uncomfortable in my case. Totally different feel from the C17 and only 19 grams lighter (measured).

Not nearly as good as the leather variety
A tad softer than most of the plastic saddles around, but not a patch on the original B17. Very disappointing for the hype given for this saddle.

C17 quality saddle
Bought this saddle to go on my Whyte Dorset, if you get over the initial expense and think about the amount of time your in the saddle the C17 makes perfect sense. The bonus is the saddle doesn't need to be broken in, there is enough natural flex to conform to the rider quickly. Also found it absorbs bumps better than other saddles I've had previously. Best saddle I've ever bought or will probably ever buy!

Bought this saddle expecting B17 greatness
It is one of those products that enjoy the fame of previous classic models a bit like Levi's 501 sunglasses. Well it is no a bad saddle but for the money you pay there are plenty of better options out there, it is a looker though, it's probably good quality too, but if confort is what you are after you are better off with a B17 or a Flyer if you don't mind the weight and care you need to have, I have to fit quick releases saddles on my bikes to prevent the leather from getting wet or having the saddle stolen while I'm away, thought this was the answer to that and I don't see how this almost synthetic saddle is better that the fizik arione on my training bike, other fizik cheaper saddles are as good as this so-called brooks

Buy the Best forget the rest
Very hard to tell how a saddle will suits you but this has been a revelation for me.
After getting the angles and positioning correct this has been brilliant. They say it does not need any break in but in my opinion this saddle does get a little more forgiving after a few weeks of riding, now I love it and will be upgrading the second bike to one also!

Just hose it down and ride!
I have to admit I don't find the C17 as super comfy as my worn in B17, but being able to hose it down when its covered in mud , or copping a drenching from water thrown up by knobbies has made it a great choice for an off tarmac bike. Not that its uncomfortable , its just the worn in B17 is more comfy. After a couple of thousand KM the surface has polished and worn in the way that a normal plastic saddle doesn't .
Oh, and that alloy rear frame makes it the sexiest looking saddle ever!

Great firm but comfortable saddle
After 2 years and 2000 miles I gave up on my B17. We just didn't get along even after "breaking in". I also got the B17 very wet one day and potentially ruined it. So I decided to give the C17 a try. It's very firm, and won't get any softer with use, but is comfortable, low maintenance and waterproof!

most comfortable saddle I bought yet
most comfortable saddle I bought yet, most of my over saddles even when I have spent more, now seem far too narrow.
11 January 2015
This saddle was comfortable from day one I already have 2 Brooks leather saddles which require care but this one is an up and go saddle whatever the weather.

Very confortable & stylish.
8 months and more than 3 000 kms after (MTB and commuting), I declare this saddle is awesome. it has proved all the infos given by the adverts. I have 1,82 mts for 84 kms and the saddle has been confortable since I seat on it for the first time. Truly happy with this purchase, It's my first Brooks saddle!
