Broke chain week before 3-day Coast to Coast ride so got this as contingency to prevent getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a broken chain - haven't used, but a good for peace of mind ... Usual good quality from genuine Campagnolo kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect solution i am not so keen on jointing chains by any other method and this solves a problem. I'd just a week ago put a new record chain on my bike only for the bike to need to be dismantled. The chain is is now on another bike thanks to the chain link kit, and not scrap. A win all round i say !!

Q & A

do i need a special tool to fit this?

or - is it just a push / twist fit??

You need a chain tool and there is a knack if you don't have the campag tool. There are guide pins and you have to ensure that the chain tool lines up with the hole pin, guide pin and the chain pin and that are kept inline until the chain pin is in place. It is very easy to snap the guide pin then it is almost impossible to fit the chain pin without it. Find someone to show you and get some practice before you do your own

is this the only way to join campag chains?

can i use the KMC or wippermann products too - for a veloce 10speed chain

I recommend using KMC missing links to join your Campy chain. Wippermann are also good. Forget about using the genuine Campy link - it's way to fiddly.

Are link pins provided?

Should I expect to link chain together with pins supplied with new chain or do I need to purchase anything else?

The chain should be supplied with link pins so that you can fit the chain to your bike without purchasing anything else. This part is for connecting a chain once you remove it from your bike.
