Cane Creek Cane Creek 40 Series ZeroStack 1 1/8 Inch Headset
Great value, fantastic performance
Easy to fit, made a huge improvement over the original headset that was becoming worn. As usual Cane Creek products are very well built, exceptional quality product at a very sensible price. Would definitely use Cane Creek again for other headsets and would recommend to others.

Bought as a replacement for non-mechanical friends bike. This was one of the few I could find with the required stack height, and head tube, steerer sizes.
High quality and pressed in easily.

'...does what it says on the tin...'
A great example of simple but well executed engineering. fitted faultlessly and works flawlessly. I can't say any more... I will be purchasing the 1" version for my 'classic' summer bike.

Very good quality at fair price
This headset is top quality and is very well disigned to keep water and dirt out. Price is fair, you don't need to go for the higher priced Cane Creek model.

Easy to fit, big upgrade
Probably left it to long to make this replacement on my 2012 Felt Z85, but glad I finally got round to it. Headset now incredibly light and smooth, it's really breathed new life into the bike. One word of warning, I was a bit confused when it arrived as all the bits are included for an external fitting - for most modern road bikes I'm guessing you'd only need the two bearings which slot into the frame.

Quality so far
Bought for a 2011 CR1 after checking the spec with Scott, Wiggle and using the Cane Creek Website configurator tool.
Headset is buttery smooth. Larger gap between the fork crown and the frame in comparison to the stock Ritchey headset that was fitted. No big deal.
Hopefully it will be pretty durable.

Quality replacement bearings
great drop in replacement for my existing bearings on my GT Avalanche 1.0. Books I'd read recommend a pro to remove/insert the cups that fit to the frame but I encountered no problems in this respect- Very simple to replace and do the job well.

CC make the best headsets bar none.
Scott CR1 came with a Ritchey caged ball headset. When it came time for the balls to be replaced this was the obvious choice. If it is as good as the other Cane Creek headsets I've used it'll be fit and forget with a bearing replacement every 2 or 3 years.

Great quality product at very good price.
really recommend this product, had it on my other bike a while now and only adjusted it once as you do after the first ride, very smooth easy to fit and in my opinion looks really nice and a good upgrade from the stock items usually fitted.

Does its job
Easy to fit, I had no special tools but it went in a breeze. Just what I needed, steering is smooth as butter now, hope it lasts longer than the standard bearings.

Perfect upgrade from the standard ball bearing headset on my road bike. Easy to fit (with a headset press). This is the first upgrade I always do on any bike, fit and once adjusted forget. (unless you have just done dusk till dawn on your mtb then you will have to clean it out!.

Good quality engineered bearings
This headset was to replace a previous version fitted to a Bianchi Via Nirone 7 CTC frame. The outside diameter of the new races was a few thou smaller than the original and the interference fit of the housings (top and bottom cups) and fork crown ring (the race is separate) was tight requiring some preparatory work before pressing into place. However, once fitted the well engineered bearings performed satisfactorily. The quality of the product was superior to that of an FSA headset fitted recently to a Boardman frame.

Smooth as silk
With the help of James C at Wiggle who advised me very well I replaced the stock ( and broken within a year) headset on my Felt Q520.
I cannot believe the difference it has made to the steering, the fitting instructions are very clear as well so I had no issues as a first time fitter of such things.
I did stick to using my stock cap as it was red to match my bike and simply looked better than the Cane Creek one, that's just my choice though and I fully recommend this even if it is a little expensive.

Great look. Feels solid and hi-tech. Industrial bearings and gum covers.

I have to be honest and say that I wasn't expecting such a top quality item when I bought this headset purely based on the price of it. It took me a fair amount of time to trawl through all the info I could find online about headsets quality and the various sizes that are out there. I got there eventually and decided that this one was the one for me to buy based on the info I had read and the amount I was prepared to spend on it.
Well, compared to the one that I took off my bike (FSA) this one was worlds apart from it. Firstly very pleased with the finish and look of it. The sealed bearings were massively far superior to the one I had removed too. Then to fit it..........I have never done one before so I wasn't too sure what to expect but taking my time and a lot of care it all went extremely well. I am very pleased with the end result, aesthetically and mechanically. It has extra blue seals in it to protect the sealed bearings even more so. I can't comment on the long term reliability yet but see no reason why I wouldn't get years of good service from it
I thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
PS.........yet another quick and reliable service from Wiggle too.

Note this is the headset to fit the 44mm internal diameter headtubes which is a fairly new standard, and as per title it is suitable for forks with 1 1/8" steer tube.
The headset does exactly what says on the tin.
It is lightweight, good looking and reasonably priced.
The cartridge bearing are removable and replacable.
The crown racer is stainless steel with build in rubber seal to protect the bottom bearings from dust and water.
Overall I'm impressed with it and I would choose it over the Nuke Proof.

will this item replace the FSA headset currently on my bike which hasn't stood up well to winter riding conditions. the bike is a Boardman CX comp of 2014 vintage. Looking for a fit and, almost, forget component with sealed cartridge bearings in stead of open ball races in cages

I have a Trek 1400 frame, circa 2007. It originally had a AHEADSET semi integrated headset. Inspecting the cups and head tube it appears I need a 41mm OD cups. Can you confirm if any of the these headsets would fit?
